It's never easy serving customers in any sort of cafe especially a themed one. More than that a themed cafe built upon the reputation of perhaps if not THE greatest but one of the greatest maids to serve a cup of tea, Summer Madison. Each one of these maids has been personally trained by the woman herself and this cafe acts as one of the two public outreaches made by Katalina Star. Something to convince the people of Malibu “I'm not just about sex”. It also helps that the cafe boasts a wondrous view of the sandy shore welcoming in the Pacific allowing for beautiful moments to be dined in. If there were ever any issue brought upon frequently on comment cards it's of a particular maid. Many have referred to her as rude, others go the extra mile and classify her as “tsundere” or uncaring for the sake of showmanship, but the maids who represent the public face of both Katalina and Summer simply call her
Maid: Honey,
The conservatively dressed maid, her brown hair tied back into a tight bun under her lace turns toward the equally fashionable blond hanging loose and fluffed out a little from its ribbon ensnarement.
Maid: Customer outside wants you.
Honey furrows her brow and practically sneers at the notion of being called upon like a common mutt. She doesn't even bother looking to either the outside front or back patio as she responds coldly.
Honey: I'm working inside today. If they want me they can find a spot in here.
Maid: They want you out front.
Honey swiftly snaps back at least mindful enough to hush her tone.
Honey: Do you see the thick ass uniform I'm wearing? I'm dressed for inside service. You send me out there in this heat and I'm sweating in minutes.
Maid: It's what the client wants. Besides, she said she wasn't going to be here long.
Honey again opens her mouth to protest but the maid gently pressed her lace gloved fingers against the blonds sleeve channelling her inner Summer.
Maid: I know it's hot, we all know it's hot. Just do this and I'll give you an extended break to cool down afterward. Okay?
Honey grumbles for a bit but ultimately acquiesces, which is about the best the maid could hope for from her. She gently taps Honey's harm again and heads back to her assigned table letting the blond start for the front door. She's not even to it when she's stopped by someone just entering inside who smiles brilliantly when face to face with her former in ring partner.
Samantha: There you are!
This reunion isn't exactly a shared thrill as Honey rests her own lace gloved hands over her hips and rocks her head along to the side.
Honey: YOU'RE the one calling for me? God, it makes sense if you're sending me outside to sweat now...
Samantha does have...particular tastes after all. Though in this instance the blond dressed moreso for the weather in a floral print tank top and matching sarong appears somewhat confused.
Samantha: No...I just got here. Holly said you were working here today so I came over to offer up my services in helping you train.
Honey: ...what?
Samantha: Yeah! I figure Holly with her fear of heights isn't gonna be much help training you in a ladder match and I figure since I know people jump from building to building-
Honey: She's not my trainer, you idiot!
Samantha doesn't even take offence to that one. Normally someone would at the very least appear shocked but for Samantha her immediate change in expression is of a whole different make.
Samantha: Getting a bit informal, aren't we?
Honey: Mistress. Whatever. Summer's not my trainer, I'm just bringing her to the ring to watch me. I know how ladder matches work, I don't need some super hero showing me how ladders function.
Samantha: Well...while I'm flattered you would assume I'm Cyclone,
Honey: I didn't say Cyclone.
Samantha: I suppose I got a little excited. That's something I'll work on.
Honey: Among other things I hope.
Either not catching that or simply opting out of reacting to Honey's harshly meant comment, Samantha's expression perks back up again as her brilliant smile returns.
Samantha: So when and where are your match happening?
Honey: I, uh, they haven't told me yet. Ballpark date and potential places. You know how it is with travelling companies.
Samantha: Mm, not really. 3WL mostly stayed put, didn't it?
Honey: When I get my flight information I'll let you know, alright?
Samantha: Looking forward to it! Good Girls reunited!
Honey: Yep. Except Sloan.
Samantha: Oh, that's right!
Honey rolls her head back wishing she hadn't brought her up as all it's doing is extending this unwanted conversation.
Samantha: I wonder what she's been doing...
Honey: Figure that out. In fact, get Cyclone on it.
Samantha: You think she would?
Honey finally smiles as she pats Samantha's bicep.
Honey: I'm sure she would. I really have to get going now.
Samantha: Of course.
Presuming Honey means to be going back inside the cafe Samantha remains in place.
Honey: Outside.
Samantha: Oh!
Honey: Where I was going when you stopped me.
Samantha: Sorry.
Samantha steps off to the side allowing Honey to come out and look around. Samantha gives a light shake of her fist in symbol of her unity with her former partner but it doesn't exactly go noticed. Rather, Honey is looking around the tables wondering which of them called her out here when she spots a familiar blue haired woman glaring back at her. Seeing that pale skinned figure causes Honey's throat to immediately dry up as she takes a few nervous steps forward to meet up with Catherine Neville.
Catherine: Sit.
Like a good mutt, Honey swiftly pulls out the chair opposite Catherine and sits down resting her hands into her lap doing her best to not even make her breathing noticeable.
Catherine: I'm going to talk, you're going to listen, and at the end you're going to nod. Got it?
Honey shivers a little but starts to nod when Catherine slams her palm firmly against the tabletop startling the maid.
Catherine: I'm not finished.
Honey knows she should've seen that one coming as she glances down for a moment until Catherine continues.
Catherine: So you're actually doing it, aren't you? You're not flaking like I've heard so many times in recent weeks. Just by showing up in that ring you made a few people apparently very happy through wealth. I don't care about that though, I care about who you brought with you.
Yeah, Honey knew this day was going to happen and no matter how much preparation she made she was just never going to be ready for this one on one with Catherine.
Catherine: I know you know who I mean and we both know what this conversation is about. You know what'll happen if Summer comes back hurt so I don't think we need to go through any of that.
Honey has an idea as to what would happen though the exact actions are all based on Catherine's creativity at the time and Catherine can be very creative in how she deals with those she doesn't like.
Catherine: This is where you nod, Honey.
Honey does just that and immediately after Catherine stands up from the table. There's nothing more that needs to be said between the two, no cheery reunion of Steele Media employees, no swapping in ring stories, just one human being warning another. That's really all there is to it.[/font]
