Official Theme: "My Name is Human" by Highly Suspect
OPENING MONTAGE
The Fall of Man!
The show starts up with a highlight reel of the talents participating in the night’s matches, doing an excellent job of hyping up each and every match. The violence between Darcy Graves and Mikaela Callway is highlighted first as the opening to “My Name is Human” by Highly Suspect starts to play!
“Okay…”
The first match between the pairing, leading into some verbal altercations and a backstage brawl at Vanguard, along with a few training montages for both women, leading up to them being shown on the HYBRID-Tron, their match tonight slated to be a Falls Count Anywhere Street Fight!
“I'm feeling the way that I'm feeling myself
Fuck everyone else
Gotta remember that nobody is better than anyone else, here
(Do you need some time to think it over?)
Look what they do to you
Look what they do to me
Must be joking if you think that either one is free, here”
Next is the Vanguard Championship Match, the inaugural champion in the form of Katie Anderson defending against Cass Baumer and the massive Damian Simmons! The bloody victory for Katie in the Egregious Eight-Way Ladder Match leading to bad blood, figuratively and literally, between her and Cass Baumer… Cass’s attempts at fixing things… and Damian taking a quiet challenge to heart and inserting himself in their business!
“Get up off your knees, girl
Stand face to face with your God
And find out what you are
(Hello, my name is human)
Hello, my name is human
And I came down from the stars
(Hello, my name is human)”
From there, we move on to the Global Tag Team Championship Match, with the Lost shown prominently alongside their leader, Noah Ortega, and the path of destruction that Anton Palmer and Gio Moriello have wrought since their first appearance. This is counterbalanced by the rougher start of the Frontline, Lluvia Cane and Jonna Austin, who had a rocky beginning but showed their guts and skill all the same, leading up to this first defense of the championships!
"I'm ready for love, and I'm ready for war
But I'm ready for more
I know that nobody's ever been this fucking ready before, hey
(Do you need some time to think it over?)
So figure it out, or don't figure it out
I figured it out
The bigger the river (the bigger the river)
The bigger the drought (the bigger the drought)"
The six-person tag is highlighted next, with the meanest of the mean on one side in the form of Duke Andrews, Clayton Kane and Noah Ortega! All three men have proven how dangerous they are in the ring, and their attitudes are no less kind, though they have certainly found success despite this! And on the other side? Samantha Tolson and the universally-loved Natural Resources, GoGo and Rain! Sam’s accolades are ever-impressive and few can match the light and energy that is Natural Resources, making this match a sleeper for the wildest encounter of the evening!
“Get up off your knees, boy
Stand face to face with your God
And find out what you are
(Hello, my name is human)
Hello, my name is human
And I came down from the stars
(Hello, my name is human)”
Coming upon the Iron Heart Championship Match, Super Tiger is shown prominently, the first person to hold the belt showing pride in her accomplishment, alongside dear friend and now-opponent Jessie Robinson, still seeking their first win in HYBRID! But ever a thorn in both their sides is Bianca Davis, who has Honey Ryden and Simple Simon ever at their side, causing problems for both Tiger and Jessie!
"Fire world, I love you
Fire world
I'm up off my knees, girl
I'm face to face with myself
And I know who I am
(Hello, my name is human)
I stole the power from the sun
I'm more than just a man
(No longer disillusioned)"
And at the end… Eddy Todd, defending the Global Heavyweight Championship for the first time on pay-per-view, facing the energetic and determined Aiden Morrow! Though he made a name for himself in the Global Heavyweight Tournament, Morrow came up short. Not to be deterred, he wrestled twice in one night, winning both matches to cement this opportunity for himself! Eddy, undefeated since his start in HYBRID, has proven to be an effective champion and will be nothing short of ready for his aerialist opponent! But is “ready” enough to stave off the Blyzzard? Or will it be Kingdom Come for Morrow?!
"I came down from the stars (so I'll take my chances)
(And what are the chances)
(That I could advance)
(On my own circumstances)
(Said what are the chances?)
Hello, my name is human (and what are the chances)
(I'm not asking questions)
And I know who I am (so you keep your answers)
(I'm not asking questions)
(I'm taking my chances)"
“My Name is Human” plays to its natural finish as pyrotechnics go off on the stage and around the big screen! The first pay-per-view of the new era of HYBRID is about to take place and the HYBRID Nation is pumped and ready!
MATCH ONE
Falls Count Anywhere
Singles/One Fall
Darcy Graves vs. Mikaela Callaway
Spirit Montego: Ladies and gentlemen, the following match is your opening contest, scheduled for ONE FALL-
Crowd: ONE FALL!
Spirit pauses briefly, caught up in the fans’ enthusiasm!
Spirit Montego: -and it is a no-holds-barred, no-disqualification, falls-count-anywhere match!
The lights go out in the arena. The screen starts to slowly flicker, as a music box is heard throughout the arena. The lightning then cracks across the screen, the music box is seen on the screen cracked in half. Artemis begins playing, as Green and Yellow spotlights are shone on the middle of the stage. A man in a long trench coat comes out first, stepping through the spotlight. He moves over to the left, as Darcy is seen stepping out into the light, looking out at the fans smiling a bit. She then poses as her father claps. The lights come on, and Darcy begins her walk down the ramp. She grips the chain around her neck, then looks out at the fans scoffing at them, as she passes them up. The music starts to pick up, as Darcy makes it to the bottom.
Darcy then looks into the ring, before she moves over to the stiars she slaps the mat, then turns towards the stairs with her father still in tow. She climbs up onto the apron looking out, then her father holds the ropes open for her, she climbs through them. She then flexes for the fans once more as her father looks over at the ring announcer.
Spirit Montego: Introducing first, accompanied by Ciaran Page, from Dublin, Ireland, weighing in at 126 lbs. She is Darcy Graves!
Bernadette Olson: We’ve known this match was coming for several weeks but after the last Vanguard broadcast, things definitely escalated when Darcy Graves left Mikaela Callaway laid out in the backstage area.
Jacob Frankel: If you ask her, she was just trying to teach the rookie what happens when you bite off more than you can chew! But Trenton Mitchell put a stop to that lesson... and thank goodness he did or we might not HAVE a match tonight!
Darcy then turns around smiling at the person. She backs into a corner sitting down as her father moves to that corner to stand with her. She then passes him the chain, then stands up, lifting herself on the ropes, watching for her opponent.
Bernadette Olson: I would love to see you tell her that to her face. Please, give me that entertainment.
Jacob Frankel: No, thank you! I'll stay in my seat!
Bernadette Olson: Heh. Only ribbing you anyway, kid. You're alright.
As Darcy Graves stands in the ring, watching the entryway like a pacing hunter, the ring announcer takes the microphone up as a band starts getting into place on one side of the stage.
Jacob Frankel: Your ready for a street fight, Bernadette?
Bernadette Olson: Oh, am I ever? I know these fans are ready. I know Darcy Graves is ready.
Jacob Frankel: But is her opponent ready?
Bernadette Olson: Mikaela Callaway had a different look in her eyes last time we saw her leaving the arena after that savage brawl between her and Graves.
Spirit Montego: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome at this time… HOLLOW POINT!
Jacob Frankel: Hey, did she bring her brother to play her to the ring? That's a badass way to make an entrance!
Bernadette Olson: Nothing like a little rocking out to get you ready to scrap!
Derek Callaway stands at the front of the band, at the microphone. He points to the crowd then throws the horns before the group starts the intro to their cover of Avenged Sevenfold’s “Unholy Confessions.” They only get the first 10 seconds in before they stop and the lights fade out, shrouding the stage in blackness. There’s a murmur from the crowd, confusion spreading for a moment before a low guitar note rises out of the silence. When the music resumes, the stage flickers with red and purple lighting, however now the band is starting a rendition of In This Moment’s “Adrenalize”. This time, Derek Callaway has a guitar in his hands and the usual guitar player, Chelsea Mullins is standing at the microphone.
"Adrenalize me…"
As the main guitar riff kicks in, the entryway fills with white light as smoke pours out. The fans start “oohing” in anticipation as the white light starts slowly strobing on and off.
♫Come a little bit closer, before we begin
Lemme tell you how I want it
And exactly what I need
I'm here for one drug
I'm only here for one thing
So come on and tell me
Can you fly like you're free
Cause I need to feel
Yeah, I need to say♫
Lemme tell you how I want it
And exactly what I need
I'm here for one drug
I'm only here for one thing
So come on and tell me
Can you fly like you're free
Cause I need to feel
Yeah, I need to say♫
Then, as the chorus hits, the strobe light flicks back on just in time as Mikaela Callaway comes walking out through the tunnel to an uproarious pop from the crowd. Could be the simple fact that she showed up to fight or perhaps it’s the vast change in her appearance. Her hair is bleached blonde and her ring gear has had a complete makeover while there’s a heightened look of determination in her eyes. Mikaela walks to the center of the stage, staring down at the ring - a quarter mask covering the top of her face over her left eye.
♫I must confess
I'm addicted to this
Shove your kiss straight through my chest
I can't deny, I'd die without this
Make me feel like a god
Music, love and sex
(Adrenalize me)♫
♫I crave excess
Turning wine into sweat dripping down my neck
I can't deny, I'd die without this
Make me feel like a god
Adrenaline and sex♫
I'm addicted to this
Shove your kiss straight through my chest
I can't deny, I'd die without this
Make me feel like a god
Music, love and sex
(Adrenalize me)♫
♫I crave excess
Turning wine into sweat dripping down my neck
I can't deny, I'd die without this
Make me feel like a god
Adrenaline and sex♫
There’s a brief pause before the next verse starts where Mikaela side steps towards the band and bumps fists with Derek and Chelsea before she comes down the ramp, greeting the fans with slaps to their hands and bumps to their fists.
Spirit Montego: And her opponent, from Virginia Beach, Virginia... MIKAELA CALLAWAY!
As Mikaela reaches ringside, she circles around to the side with the hardcam and grabs the middle rope, pulling herself up into a twist onto the apron with one knee and one boot planted. She throws her head back, flipping her hair behind her with a yell to the sky before looking to the crowd with a wicked, impish grin on her face, licking her teeth. She pumps her arm down, yelling “C’MON!” to the crowd before standing up and dipping into the ring under the middle rope. At this point, her eyes go right to Darcy Graves who’s nodding with a cold grin, motioning for Mikaela to bring it on. Mikaela throws her arms up with a bright smile on her face as she approaches, yelling over the music.
Mikaela Callaway: HI, DARCY! I’M HERE TO WRESTLE YOU NOW!
The referee gets between the two, bidding that Mikaela go back to her corner. Her arms drop as does her smile and she stares back at Darcy with a hardened, loathful look in her eyes and backs towards her corner, removing her leather jacket.
Bernadette Olson: Talk about a change of persona, Jacob! This looks like a whole new Mikaela Callaway we’re seeing!
Jacob Frankel: Either Darcy Graves knocked something loose in her head or woke something up within, but I agree, Bernadette!
DING! DING! DING!
The referee calls for the bell and immediately steps out of the way as Darcy Graves motions for Mikaela Callaway to bring it on. The latter rushes forward but stops just feet away from Darcy and starts circling the mat with a grin. Mikaela shakes a finger at Darcy and taps the side of her head. Darcy smiles and nods, impressed it seems that Mikaela’s catching on before the two finally step in and lockup, collar and elbow. Mikaela’s got a few inches in height but they’re just about the same weight with Darcy having the strength advantage as they push against one another. It’s Darcy who gets the first hold in as she administers a wrist lock on Mikaela but Mikaela’s able to twist through and counter it into an arm wringer. Darcy’s quick with the reversal to the reversal and administers one of her own before starting to yank Mikaela in, slamming her shoulder into the soft part of hers. She’s already looking to weaken that arm to set up for her finisher. Mikaela starts to waver and Darcy keeps hold of her wrist, yanking her in for a big short arm clothesline. Mikaela goes down and Darcy holds the wrist, pulling her back up. She hits her with another clothesline but still doesn’t let go of that wrist. Darcy, instead, steps over the arm, looking for an armbreaker but as soon as she has her back to Mikaela, the newly recruited member to the Queens of Chaos plants her foot against Darcy’s butt and shoves her into the ropes. Darcy hits but catches herself so she doesn’t bounce back into an attack by her opponent. Mikaela’s rolled up to her feet now and she comes running at Darcy, ready to fight. Darcy side steps. Mikaela runs into the ropes and bounces back right into the GRAVE KEEPER (Bridging Dragon Suplex)!!!
ONE!
TWO!
TWO!
Kickout by Mikaela and she rolls up onto her knees with Darcy coming up to one knee and a foot, grinning wickedly. The Ireland born brawler holds up a thumb and index finger just centimeters apart, telling Mikaela she was that close. Flustered, Mikaela shakes her head and gets up to her feet. The two meet up in the center again and go for a lockup but Mikaela jukes behind Graves and clinches her arms around her waist in a rear waistlock. Darcy struggles to get free until she can stick her thumbs down under Callaway’s wrists and break the hold. Just enough that she can reach back with an arm around the back of her head and deliver a headlock hip toss takedown into a grounded headlock. Mikaela writhes to get free, extending her feet to find a rope but it’d be useless anyway with the No Holds Barred stipulation. Mikaela ends up twisting herself around onto her stomach and up onto her knees but Darcy holds on tight with that headlock. Mikaela gets up to her feet and wraps her arms around Darcy from the side, delivering a big Belly to Back Suplex. This breaks the headlock and Mikaela gets up to her feet, waiting for Darcy to make it to her knees before she comes running in with a Shining Wizard! Mikaela hooks the leg now!
ONE!
TWO!
TWO!
Darcy kicks out and immediately rolls out to the ringside floor where her father, Ciaran Page comes over to coach her and keep her hyped up. While this is going on, Mikaela wastes no time and runs across the ring, dashing off the ropes and springs off of the top rope with a springboard leg lariat. Her leg takes Darcy right in the face while the side of her butt whacks Ciaran right in the head and all three go down to the floor.
Crowd: HO-LY SHIT! HO-LY SHIT! HO-LY SHIT! HO-LY SHIT!
Mikaela pulls herself up to her feet first and hears the crowd’s cheers. She grins big, throwing her arms up to showboat a little. Meanwhile, Darcy digs underneath the ring, pulling out a chair and she doesn’t even wait to sneak up on Mikaela with it. As soon as the blonde turns around WHAM! The chair is sent flying right at her face. Mikaela’s seeing stars now as she staggers back into the barricade and holds on with her arms. Darcy picks the chair back up and brandishes it at Mikaela like an old friend.
Darcy Graves: You remember this?!
Jacob Frankel: Oh, I’m sure she does!
Bernadette Olson: She might be looking to finish the job she started on Vanguard, folks!
Darcy drives the chair into Mikaela’s ribs, causing her to drop down onto all fours on the ringside floor. She cocks the chair up and brings it down across her back with a loud WHACK! The crowd reacts emphatically. Darcy then presses the edge of the chair down on the back of Mikaela’s neck, taunting her before she brings it up and drives the edge down into her ribs. She tosses the chair aside, not too far mind you and rolls Mikaela right over onto her back on the foot of the ramp for a cover.
ONE!
TWO!
MIKAELA KICKS OUT!
TWO!
MIKAELA KICKS OUT!
Darcy sits back on her knees, shaking her head in disbelief at the girl. She gets up and grabs the chair again, while Mikaela rolls over onto her stomach and crawls to the barricade, starting to pull herself up. Fans get out of the way as they see Darcy coming with the chair. Mikaela doesn’t see her but she sees the fans quickly backing away and she lunges to the side, causing a chair strike from Darcy to ring off of the metal railing. Darcy’s hands cramp up and she drops the chair. Mikaela makes it to her feet and steps in, hitting a knee lift to Darcy’s midsection then slams her head into the barricade. As Darcy staggers back, Mikaela sees the chair and picks it up, much to the crowd’s delight.
Crowd: GET HER BACK! GET HER BACK! GET HER BACK! GET HER BACK!
Mikaela looks at the chair and glares at Darcy. Is she going to? Oh she’s absolutely going to! She starts approaching, readying the chair to strike but as she rears it back, Darcy jukes to the side and around behind Mikaela. The chair whacks the concrete floor, causing Mikaela to drop the chair. Darcy steps in and catches her around the waist for a big German Suplex right on the ramp! The crowd gasps as they’re not sure if Mikaela landed on her neck or not as she just goes limp on the floor, face down. Darcy rolls her over again and covers.
ONE!
TWO!
NO!
TWO!
NO!
Mikaela’s shoulder shoots up and Darcy’s even more furious now. She picks up that steel chair again. The referee can’t do anything about it. Mikaela pulls herself back up to her feet and this time Darcy waits for her to turn around before she CRACKS her right over the head with it! Mikaela falls back against the ringpost and slumps down onto her butt as red starts to seep into her bright blonde hair and run down her face. Darcy tosses the chair aside and grabs Mikaela by the head in both hands, telling her that she’s nothing and never will be. She slaps her a couple times. Mikaela just gazes up at her, clearly not all there but she has just enough conscience to spit in Darcy’s face. Darcy jerks back, wiping her face off then angrily starts laying the boots to Mikaela. She goes under the ring to get a table and he starts setting it up at ringside. Darcy picks MIkaela up and drags her over, looking to powerbomb her, it seems, through the table but Mikaela’s legs sag and she goes dead weight. Instead, Darcy picks her back up and rolls her onto the table on her back. She climbs up onto the apron, back into the ring and starts scaling to the top turnbuckle. As she’s doing this, Mikaela rolls off of the table and pushes up to her feet, flipping her bloody blonde hair back, showing an enraged, wild look in her eyes. Darcy’s perched on the turnbuckle like a gargoyle, simply stunned at what she’s witnessing as Mikaela climbs up onto the apron. She’s got something in mind now as she approaches. Darcy holds out a hand, shaking her head, trying to reason with her but Mikaela’s not having it. Instead, she pulls back on the rope and slingshots herself up onto it, springs off and catches Darcy around the head with her legs. FRANKENSTEINER TO THE OUTSIDE!!! Mikaela takes a front bump on the padded floor, curling up in pain. Darcy Graves flips through the air and CRASHES THROUGH THE TABLE!!!!
Crowd: HO-LY SHIT! HO-LY SHIT! HO-LY SHIT! HO-LY SHIT!
Mikaela lifts her head up, bleeding like a stuck pig down her face. She wipes the blood from her eyes and pulls herself up. She picks Darcy up, revealing a gash on the back of Graves’ shoulder where she landed on the table; blood oozing out. Mikaela rolls her back into the ring and climbs onto the apron. She ponders what to do for a second before climbing to the top turnbuckle, gesturing with her hands rotating in a circle. She’s gonna go for her signature 450* Splash! She raises her arms, cocks back and shoots off! She becomes a whirlwind of yellow, red, purple and black through the air as she comes down and….RIGHT ONTO DARCY’S RAISED KNEES!! Darcy rolls back out onto the floor and starts tossing more weapons into the ring from underneath the apron. Chairs. Kendo sticks. A shmorgishborg of violent toys. When she gets back into the ring, she’s brandishing a cheese grater in her hand, holding it up to the crowd as they boo. She laughs and turns back towards Mikaela but as she goes to reach down and grab her hair, Mikaela has grabbed a staple gun from the assortment of goodies Darcy threw in. She presses the stapler to Darcy’s thigh and CLICK! Darcy jumps back, yelling out as a staple is punched into her flesh. She reaches down to pull it out but she looks up as her eyes catch movement and Mikaela’s back on her feet, right in her face. She presses the stapler to her forehead but before she can fire it in, Darcy swats her arm out of the way and goes for a discus lariat. Mikaela jukes behind her and springs up into a Jumping Reverse Bulldog. Cover!

KICKOUT!

KICKOUT!
Mikaela grabs her head in despair, wondering what she has to do to put her opponent away. When she gets up, she sees the cheese grater on the mat and picks it up, looking down at Darcy, She starts asking if this was what she was going to try to do to her. Graves makes it up onto her knees and Mikaela grabs her from behind, raking the kitchen utensil across her forehead. Darcy screams in pain as Mikaela really digs in and twists before yanking it away. Blood starts oozing out of Darcy’s forehead, down her face. Mikaela throws the grater aside and picks her back up, looking for MIkaela’s Way (Michinoku Driver II) but Darcy slips down behind her onto her feet. She shoves Mikaela into the ropes. Mikaela bounces back right into Darcy’s arms and Darcy goes for One Last Trip (Hellevator)! As she turns into the second half of the move, however, Mikaela counters it into an armdrag, sending Darcy up and over onto the mat. Both girls roll up onto their feet and Mikaela rushes in. She runs past Darcy to the ropes. Darcy spins around and Mikaela floors her with a Somersault Dropkick!! Darcy hits the mat and rolls backwards onto her knees. Mikaela scrambles over to her and scoops her up!! MIKAELA’S WAY!!!!!! She hugs the leg, sitting across Darcy’s chest!!!

Bernadette Olson: Take nothing away from Darcy Graves but how about a round of applause for that young lady right there!
Jacob Frankel: Mikaela definitely found herself for this match and it paid off. I can’t deny that!
“Adrenalize” tears through the PA system as a bloody Mikaela has her arm raised by the referee, smiling through the crimson mask she’s wearing.

Not the Ladies to Mess With
Jonna Austin, with her NFW Silver Mountain Championship resting on the bench next to her, was in the locker room with Lluvia Cane and Harper Lee. The two wrestlers were getting themselves prepared for their match against The Lost for the Global Tag Team Championships. Both women had different auras to them, Jonna’s being bronzed and happy while Lluvia…well it was clear that she was down on herself.
Jonna Austin: Lluv… I know you’ve been stalking Twitter a lot lately, but I need you to focus that pain into the match tonight. We could become tag team champions! You’ve wanted to be a tag champion for years! I know you’ve done this one before, right after his passing, but do you want to dedicate tonight to Ryan Payne? I know how close you and your mom were to him…
Jonna didn’t want to add more to the younger woman being down, but she also knew that fighting for her deceased friend could potentially light a fire in Lluvia that was needed for the night. The Cherokee Rose looked at the Gamer Punk, her eyebrows furrowed together as she thought about what the woman said.
Lluvia Cane: No… I miss the man, but tonight isn’t about him. It’s about us. It’s about The Frontline going out to that ring and showing just who the Hell we are. While it wasn’t the way we would have liked… we went out there and beat Chi Chi and Jane. Those two made us give our all and then some before they were attacked. Tonight is about going out and showing The Lost that The Frontline aren’t people to fuck with.
Jonna Austin: I’m leaving that completely up to you, Llu. If you don’t want to then I’m fine with it; you knew him, not me really. But you’re right… tonight we’re going to teach The Lost that they should have remained exactly that… lost. This is our time; our time to shine, our time to show that The Frontline is united and ready to go. It’s OUR turn to be a couple of the faces for HYBRID.
Harper Lee: Exactly! The Lost have done well with being the first Global Tag Team Champions, but it's time for HYBRID to have tag champions that properly know what they're doing. It's time for The Lost to get lost
Lluvia and Jonna nodded in agreement with Harper, a grin on all of their faces. The two women briefly bumped fists and went back to doing their last minute preparations.
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Arise!
The room is a normal room that resembles a living room. Brightly lit, normal decor such as a television in the background, paintings and pictures on the light blue painted wall, large burgundy area rug on the floor, and a window leading out into a sunny hillside with a large tree at the top.
Footsteps are heard off screen as they slowly grow closer until they finally stop as the owner steps onto the rug. The owner is revealed to be none other than “The Siren” Katie Simmons, who is dressed in a simple sweater and jeans, her fiery orange hair done up in a neat bun. She smiles warmly at the camera
Katie Simmons: Hello!
She sighs happily
Katie Simmons: We did it, HYBRID fans. We made it to the first pay-per-view of the Revolution! It’s been a crazy ride, hasn’t it? So many twists! So many turns! So much…Chaos.
Her face twists into a wicked smile for a split second. When it does, the screen flashes. Way too quick to make out with the naked eye. All that can be discerned is that the screen went black briefly. When the screen returns to normal, so does Katie’s expression.
Katie Simmons: We’ve seen champions rise, challengers fall, and unknown names prove themselves! Tonight just proves to take what we’ve seen on Vanguard and ramp it up even more! We have the Queen Bee and the Bean taking on the courageous Super Tiger for her Iron Heart championship. Three incredible talents putting their friendships aside while putting their rivalries up to the max! True soap opera material!
In dramatic fashion, Katie drapes a hand over forehead as she tilts her head back in a typical “woe is me” gesture. But she soon shoots back up to full excitement.
Katie Simmons: And who could forget the indomitable main event sure to see two powerful men… men…
Another moment where the screen switches to darkness, a dark landscape is able to be made out this time around before it switches back to the redhead Simmons
Katie Simmons: This is the main event of the entire show. It’s sure to bring the house down until the very end! Not literally, of course. Unless you want a real fall of man…
She giggles, a little too enthusiastically given the subject matter.
Katie Simmons: Aiden Morrow! Eddy Todd! I know the champ’s name very well. The bossman himself used him as an example of someone not to mess with when my hubby and I got called into the principal’s office about a month ago. So I’ve been keeping an eye on him! And of course his opponent, the man who didn’t stop in his pursuits towards the Global Heavyweight championship until he was in this very match for that very title! The man who is more than capable of going tit for tat with the world champ himself! Whoever wins will truly not be able to say they had it easy whatsoever!
This is when The Siren’s smile grows bigger than it has been before.
Katie Simmons: And who could forget the pièce de résistance, the cream of the crop in terms of this match card… For the Vanguard championship! The self-proclaimed Headliner, a multiple time champion in her own right,, Cass Baumer! She takes on the defending champion, Ms. Katie Anderson! No relation to me, of course. Don’t be silly. And those two will have to do everything in their power, including possibly teaming up, to take on the biggest threat either of them have ever faced… The Juggernaut, the giant, my amazing husband Damian Simmons.
Her eyes flutter at the mention of her husband.
Katie Simmons: Now if these two ladies were smart, they would put whatever issues they have aside in an attempt to take out the clear threat, but I think it's safe to say, given their actions two weeks ago, that won’t happen. They’re focused on their own petty feud while Damian is solely focused on the gold that’s currently around Ms. Anderson’s waist. Let your emotions get the best of you and you will be sorry. But alas, I’m afraid these words are going to fall on deaf ears. And Damian will have no choice but to charge through them en route to the gold.
She wears a loving smile on her face while she says this next part.
Katie Simmons: Such a kind man, helping to teach these two ladies a valuable lesson about properly dealing with personal matters and not letting them get in the way of your professional life. And, as we all know, the best way to learn is by doing. So when you see my hubby holding that title high in the sky, I hope you both realize where you went wrong…
The loving smile falls to one of deviousness.
Katie Simmons: You know, aside from catching the attention of The Juggernaut in the first place…
The shot zooms in on Katie’s face until it's the only thing in frame. The shot cuts again, washing The Siren’s face in a red light. It zooms out to reveal her wardrobe has changed. She’s now dressed in a black crop top, red leather jacket, and tight black leather pants. The environment around her is decrepit. The wallpaper is peeling, the paintings are all spray painted black, and the window, which is now shattered, looks out into a red sky and the tree at the top of the hill is dead.
Katie Simmons: Such an exciting time in HYBRID’s history. I’m sure everything will go off without a hitch. It’s also an uncertain time. Because, if everything goes right, everything will be bright and cheery, about as much as a wrestling company can be. But if one thing… One colossal thing goes wrong for all of you… then you’re in for a dark… dark future. And even if you don’t see it yet, I assure you that the second option is by far the most likely. Fall of Man… Such a fitting name. Because tonight, man will fall… and-
A jumpcut removes Katie from the scene and replaces her with her giant of a husband, also silhouetted by the red light. His voice booms throughout the room.
Damian Simmons: COLOSSUS ARISE!

Triple Threat/One Fall
Cass Baumer vs. Damian Simmons vs. Katie Anderson (C)
DING! DING! DING!
Spirit Montego: The following contest is scheduled for one fall!
Crowd: ONE FALL!
Spirit Montego: This is a triple threat match for the HYBRID Vanguard Championship! Introducing the first challenger, from Karori, Wellington, New Zealand, she weighs in at 141 pounds… she is The Headliner… CASS BAUMER!
As the vocals of Queens Of The Stone Age burst through the crackling arena speakers, the crowd stands to their feet when a blue spotlight beams down at the entryway. The camera descends to reveal Cass Baumer gradually. The old-school brawler struts down the aisle in a blue leather jacket over her ring gear until she nears the center of the clearing. She spins and steps backward, spreading her arms to unashamedly show off the glossy “#Baumer” emblem at the back of her distressed coat.
"Smooth Sailing" continues while Baumer's lips form a triumphant smirk, her head turned to the side 'til she leisurely twirls back when she nears the apron. She stops at the steel steps to survey the crowd with a smile. She follows it up by sliding into the ring. The palpable cheers grow in intensity as she bounces back to her feet and mounts the ropes, raising her fist with pride as she answers the visceral reaction of the crowd with a guttural shout of her own! Then, she dismounts.
Jacob Frankel: Hmm.
Bernadette Olson: What was that?
Jacob Frankel: I’m just wondering what we’ll see tonight, Bernadette. There was so much bad blood between Katie Anderson and Cass Baumer all over Twitter… and then… nothing. Things didn’t even get that mean in their match two weeks ago… not until Damian Simmons crashed the party, anyway.
Bernadette Olson: Well… I suppose you make a couple of points. Cass has been awfully quiet, even on social media. I wouldn’t say that I’m surprised she’s shown up, but…
Spirit Montego: Introducing the second challenger, from Sin City, he weighs in at 292 pounds… The Juggernaut… DAMIAN SIMMONS!
The lights in the arena go out as the piercing alarms of the song blare. The spotlights at the top of the ramp glow red as the music slowly begins to kick in. The lights illuminate the silhouette of a woman.
"Colossus..."
Suddenly a much more prominent figure steps into the light, becoming illuminated from behind as well.
"ARISE"
The heavy music kicks in as the arena lights come up again, The pair of Katie and Damian Simmons are revealed. Katie wears a devious smirk as she stares into the camera while her husband, towering over her, glares directly at the ring.
"In the image of man...
We breed our demons
On the wide wings of science...
Our abomination of a child flies"
We breed our demons
On the wide wings of science...
Our abomination of a child flies"
The couple begins walking toward the ring. Damian remains focused on the ring while his wife hangs by the sides of the ramp, taunting the fans as she passes by. Fans shout things at the pair but neither seem affected by it. Damian remains transfixed on his goal and Katie just giggles and waves.
Finally, they make it to ringside. Katie walks around the side while Damian climbs up onto the ring apron and easily steps over the top rope. Katie lays on her side, taunting the fans some more while giving them a show. After a few seconds, she crawls backward on her hands and knees, meeting up with her husband in the middle of the ring where he is standing, towering over her.
"Ask me for your name, my friend
Tell me what I feel like to you
Is it coming to an end?
I don't understand it
Tell me what I feel like to you
Is it coming to an end?
I don't understand it
COLOSSUS
COLOSSUS ARISE"
COLOSSUS ARISE"
Katie winks into the camera before hopping to her feet. She circles around Damian and removes his vest for him while he continues to stare deep into the camera. Finally, Damian takes to his corner and focuses on the upcoming match as his wife exits the ring. Simmons is seething in his corner, itching to start the fight.
Bernadette Olson: Mister and Missus Simmons have been on a mission, guns blazing, the fires of Hell rising from the ashes. No one has been able to stop Damian Simmons here in HYBRID.
Jacob Frankel: And his winning streak might just continue tonight! Let’s be honest: no one has had an answer for him yet, and even in the ladder match they could barely slow him down, much less stop him! Let’s not forget what he did to Brody Slater, either!
Spirit Montego: And their opponent, from Atlanta Georgia, she weighs in at 147 pounds… she is the reigning and defending HYBRID Vanguard Champion… The Beautiful One… KATIE ANDERSON!
“Waitin’ For You” by Demi Lovato plays as Katie Anderson steps onto the entranceway. With the gold around her waist, she confidently strolls to the ring and ignores the fans along the way. She climbs the steps and stands on the ring apron, smirking before stepping through the ropes. She stands in the middle of the ring, soaking in the boos and a few cheers. She walks to her respective corner and leans against the ropes as she waits for the bell to ring.
Bernadette Olson: There’s plenty of love for the Vanguard Champion in her own hometown. That plus her natural talent and wrestling skills might be enough to let her retain tonight.
Jacob Frankel: She’s definitely fun to watch, but…
Bernadette Olson: But what?
Jacob Frankel: I just keep flashing back to that beatdown Damian left on both Cass and Katie two weeks ago. You can still see it in their eyes: they’re wary. I would be, too!
For some reason, Olson can’t argue against Frankel. Inside the ring, Anderson unclasps her championship belt from around her waist and holds it up high, mouthing off towards Baumer and Simmons. While Simmons only narrows his dark eyes, Baumer steps up and exchanges words with Anderson. The two of them verbally go off on each other. Simmons’ wife makes a threatening motion -- her right thumb across her throat -- and he charges forward with a double clothesline to level both ladies onto the mat! The referee quickly signals for the bell--
DING! DING! DING!
--and the match is officially underway! Even after such power, Anderson rises to her feet and ends up on the receiving end of a powerful chop across her chest from Simmons. Baumer is not too far behind, but she, too, is gifted with a chop. Simmons unleashes a variety of chops to the ladies before he switches it up and clocks Anderson with a discus elbow smash. Before Baumer can react, she’s caught off-guard by his recovering speed and a big boot to the head. The ladies fall back as Simmons grins darkly at them.
Jacob Frankel: Well, this is off to a poor start for Anderson and Baumer! Damian is just having his way!
Bernadette Olson: The match has only just begun, Jacob. There’s still time to turn things around!
The Vanguard Champion and the Headliner gather themselves. Realizing they can’t hope to take down Simmons alone, they decide to put their personal grudge aside and team up. Rushing Simmons from two different sides, Baumer goes high and Anderson moves low, hitting a spinning heel kick and leg sweep combination. Simmons staggers but remains on his feet. Anderson and Baumer unleash a series of body strikes on Simmons before they level him with twin dropkicks. He’s sent over the top rope, but he lands on his feet! Narrowing his eyes, Simmons steps up onto the ring apron. Baumer takes off in a hurry and rebounds against the ropes, going for “Fly By Night” (Spear Suicida) -- BUT SIMMONS MOVES OUT OF THE WAY! Baumer painfully crashes against the nearby barricade. As Simmons enters the ring, Anderson tries to surprise him with her signature Ripcord Lariat, but Simmons counters with “Bad Beat” (Side Slam Backbreaker)!
Jacob Frankel: You were saying, Bernadette?
Bernadette Olson: Simmons caught the defending champion with a nasty-looking Bad Beat!
The change of subject is a swift one. On the outside, a cruel smile forms on Mrs. Simmons’ face. She watches her husband goes for the cover on Anderson and hook the leg for good measure. The referee begins the count--
ONE!
TWO!
NO! KATIE ANDERSON KICKS OUT!
TWO!
NO! KATIE ANDERSON KICKS OUT!
Despite this, Simmons is completely unimpressed. One of the cameras focuses on Baumer starting to recuperate on the outside. Back in the ring, Simmons lifts Anderson up to her feet and seizes her in a precarious position. He levels her with a fallaway slam, but his offense doesn’t stop there. He grabs Anderson’s legs and proceeds to dizzy her with a giant swing, even going so far as to throw her into the turnbuckles! Anderson hits the mat with a soft thud, while Simmons refocuses his concentration. Baumer’s on her feet and she runs up onto the ring apron, grabbing ahold of the top rope. Simmons’ wife tries to warn him of the danger, but Baumer’s leap of faith connects a flying forearm smash that causes him to stagger back. Quick to her feet, Baumer nails Simmons’ ribs with a savate kick, forcing him to slightly double over, and she follows up with “Bleeding Edge” (Instep Drive Penalty Kick)!
Bernadette Olson: Bleeding Edge! Olé!
Jacob Frankel: Yeah, but look! Damian’s still on his feet!
He’s staggering, but somehow he’s still standing. The fans are rather shocked! Anderson’s back to her feet, and before Baumer can chain together another attack, Anderson turns her around and rakes her in the eyes! Baumer staggers back, while Anderson’s quick to hit a modified version of “Shotgun Blast” (Superkick to the Back of Simmons’ Head)! This time, Simmons goes down to one knee and sharply exhales. There’s a mixture of cheers and boos as Anderson swiftly dropkicks him onto the mat and goes for the cover!

Bernadette Olson: Anderson was hoping to put Simmons away with the Shotgun Blast–
Jacob Frankel: --but Baumer only delays the inevitable!
Bernadette Olson: It almost sounds like you’re pulling for Damian or something!
Jacob Frankel: As long as he’s in earshot, at least!
Anderson is clearly disgusted. She rises up and turns towards Baumer who connects with a right hook, a left, and then another right! Gritting her teeth, Anderson fights back, and the ladies duke it out in the center of the ring. Simmons’ wife leans as close as she can to her husband and seems to whisper something to him. His eyes open wide and he rises to his feet -- like a looming shadow towering over the ladies. His hands snake out and seize them by their throats, the fans watching in stunned horror as Simmons delivers BOTH OF THEM into “Hellfire” (Chokeslam)!
Jacob Frankel: You know the feeling when you’re in over your head…? I’m pretty damn sure Baumer and Anderson are feeling it!
Bernadette Olson: Simmons rained Hellfire down on the ladies at the same time! This looks bad for the ladies.
Rather than go for the pin attempt, Simmons growls and grabs ahold of Anderson. From the outside, his wife smiles as he easily lifts Anderson up. The faltering Vanguard Champion experiences the “Skyfall” (Jackknife-Impact Powerbomb ala JBL Bomb) -- down onto Baumer -- not once, not twice… BUT THREE TIMES!
Jacob Frankel: Triple Skyfall! I’m getting flashbacks!
The fans experience shock, awe, and terror in a simultaneous fashion. Anderson crumbles on top of Baumer. Simmons places a boot on Anderson’s abdomen and his wife yells at the referee to make the count. He does so without a second thought!

Spirit Montego: Ladies and gentlemen, your winner of the match… and the NEW Vanguard Champion… DAMIAN SIMMONS!
Bernadette Olson: And the sky has certainly fallen. We have a new Vanguard Champion!
Jacob Frankel: There was no hope in stopping Damian Simmons! Good grief!
“Colossus” by Avatar resonates from the PA system. Simmons lifts his foot up from Anderson’s abdomen and takes a step back with a ferocious growl. Anderson and Baumer are barely conscious when the referee checks on them for a brief time. Overjoyed, Katie Simmons retrieves the championship belt from the ringside official and enters the ring. She meets her husband in the center of the ring and proudly wraps it around his waist. He holds his arms out to allow this with a smirk. Mister and Missus Simmons begin with a celebratory kiss before she hypes him to the fans around them.

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
A King’s Demand
We cut backstage to see The HYBRID Global Heavyweight Champion, Eddy Todd. He is dressed and ready for his title defense later in the night. He is wearing one of his new shirts with the Title wrapped around his waist. He looks up into the camera, an almost blank expression on his face.
Eddy Todd: All the posturing and talk has ended. The time has come for actions. The Beggar King of HYBRID has a challenge to meet. A relatively young contender has been chosen and stepped up. The bravado of youth is still strong in him. He believes his fire cannot be quenched.
Eddy chuckles slightly.
Eddy Todd: I cannot and will not fault him for his ambition and drive. It’s what pushes all of us who walk this path. Those who choose to put their bodies on the line to prove a point and entertain all want to be the top. The best. Everyone one of us wants to wear the proverbial crown.
Eddy pats the faceplate of the Title around his waist.
Eddy Todd: This right here. It puts a target on my back. There are plenty in HYBRID who want what I have. Most of them do not deserve it. Aiden is not in that category. He deserves to be in this match. He is far better than the other two options. At least he can understand not everything said about him is an insult, or that isn’t a self entitled piece of shit.
Eddy chuckles and cracks his knuckles.
Eddy Todd: I expect a challenge from you tonight, Aiden. I want your best. I want that fire you say is unquenchable. Step up before your King and show him you deserve to be there. Show me that you are all you hype about. But do not take it personal when you come up short. The Beggar King has been around for a long time, and they say old tigers sensing the end are at their most fierce.
Eddy smirks.
Eddy Todd: You will not end my reign, kid. But I will commend your effort after it is all said and done. Long live the Beggar King!
Eddy turns and walks out of frame.

A Higher Perspective
Within one of the viewing boxes of the State Farm Arena, a camera takes in the visual of the ring, the wrestlers, and the fans below. As the camera begins to zoom out slowly, the back of a man is seen in one of the recliners.
“Bravo, bravo…”
One can hear the smile in his voice. Reaching over, he lifts a cup of tea from the small table beside him and enjoys a sip of the hot beverage. He leans back with a soft chuckle.
“Finally, there’s a Vanguard Champion HYBRID rEvolution can truly be proud of. I’m sure AMV is pleased with this turn of events. Cheers, Mr. Simmons…
Enjoy it while you can.”
The rest of the tea is drained from the cup before it is set aside. Slowly, the visuals draw closer as the cameraman approaches the mysterious figure. From here, their side profile is recognized…
…as the Lord of Charisma, himself.
Nathaniel Dixon: The Intellectual Evolution has only just begun.
Stylish and dapper in a three-piece Armani suit, Nathaniel smirks at the camera -- at the viewers -- before he focuses his attention back on the live supershow.
MATCH THREE
Global Tag Team Championship Match
Tag Team/One Fall
The Frontline vs. The Lost (C)
Heading into the second title match of the evening, the fans are getting pumped. Spirit Montego is standing mid-ring with a smile and a microphone, ready to kick off the next bout!
Spirit Montego: Our next match tonight at Fall of Man is set for one fall and it is for the HYBRID Global Tag Team Championships!
A big roar from the packed house, necessitating a pause before Spirit can continue!
Bernadette Olson: A pair of champions who all but stormed the tournament to become champions and a team that faulted out early, yet kicked ass till they earned themselves another shot.
Jacob Frankel: They fought, gutted and stormed their way into a two-on-two opportunity and they’re getting it tonight! But are they ready for Gio and Anton, Bernadette?
Bernadette Olson: Lluvia and Jonna are tough ladies. In a straight fight, I would probably put my money on them.
Spirit Montego: Introducing first… the challengers!
The lights dim in the arena as silver and purple spotlights shine down on the stage. As “Cries of the Crusaders” begins, Lluvia Cane and Jonna Austin step out onto the stage and into the spots, purple and silver lights pulsing down the sides of the ramp and flashing throughout the arena. The pair began amping up along with their music as Harper Lee joins them on the stage. Harper begins clapping for the pair who nod at each other. Jonna and Lluvia fist bump one another before they strut down to the ring, laser focused as they walk past the members of the audience on their way to the ring.
Spirit Montego: Accompanied to the ring by Harper Lee… hailing from Asheville, North Carolina and weighing in at a combined weight of 256 pounds… Jonna Austin and Lluvia Cane… THE FRONTLINE!
Lluvia climbs onto the apron as Jonna climbs the steps behind her. Lluvia turns to the crowd with a smirk before skinning the cat over the top rope as Jonna winks and throws a middle finger towards the camera. Harper stays in the center of the ring, the grin never leaving her face as she claps for the women. Jonna and Lluvia nod to each other, slapping hands twice before fist bumping one another and turn as Harper exits the ring, ready to start the match.
Jacob Frankel: They certainly look ready, don’t they? It should be noted that there was some interference in their match against the Broke Chicks, though-
Bernadette Olson: -which neither party was happy with, Jacob. But the Broke Chicks made no excuses and Jonna and Lluvia offered them a shot if they won the belts, so there’s that.
Jacob Frankel: If it were me, it’d make me even more determined to win the titles… to shut up anyone who might talk crap!
Bernadette Olson: I like that way of thinking.
“Cries of the Crusaders” dies out and the two women pace back and forth, eyes on the stage, while Harper continues offering support on the outside.
Spirit Montego: And introducing the champions!
“Finished I Ain’t” by Ghostpoet starts to play and out from behind the curtain comes Gio Moriello and Anton Palmer, imposing and glorious, with the Global Tag Team Championships around their waist. Between them stands Noah Ortega, gesturing to his charges with dark pride. They head down to the ring as a unit, the fans heaping some disdain upon them, though it doesn’t seem to register with the champs!
Spirit Montego: Led to the ring by Noah Ortega… from the Way of the Lost and competing at a combined weight of 430 pounds… they are the REIGNING and DEFENDING Global Tag Team Champions… Gio Moriello and Anton Palmer… THE LOST!
They enter the ring to more boos, Noah again standing between his charges as they hold the belts up high. Said titles are taken by referee Kara Tarantino and held up once more before they’re handed off to the timekeeper.
Bernadette Olson: No one has had an answer for these guys yet. Is tonight the night that they taste defeat?
Jacob Frankel: From the sound of things, the HYBRID Nation would love that! But it’s gonna be a rough ride for the Frontline if they want to go home ten pounds heavier in gold!
Bernadette Olson: To say nothing of Noah Ortega on the outside…
Jacob Frankel: Lucky Frontline, having Harper Lee as an extra set of eyes… except it seems that Noah is joining us at the table!
Bernadette Olson: This is new…
Noah does indeed sit down at the table, but he declines a headset. Instead, he reclines in the chair, one leg crossed atop the other, watching the ring. Harper Lee and the Frontline look confused by this… allowing Anton and Gio a moment to attack before the bell can even be rung!
Jacob Frankel: Oh, come on!
DING! DING! DING!
Bernadette Olson: Looks like we’re off to the races early here! Anton is slugging it out with Jonna here while Gio and Lluvia are getting in a tangle!
Jacob Frankel: Tough as these ladies are, they don’t want a slugfest! Especially not with big Anton there!
A point proven true as the heavy shots bearing down on Jonna soon have her on her hands and knees with Anton raining down clubbing blows before kicking her square in the ribs! Gio is getting the better of Lluvia with kicks but his charge ends with him hitting the turnbuckles chest-first! Lluvia tosses him out of the ring and leaps on Anton’s back, trying to put him in some kind of sleeper and giving Jonna time to get back up! Referee Kara Tarantino is just trying to get some order in the ring but the Frontline are swarming Palmer, managing to get him down to a knee with kicks and strikes!
Bernadette Olson: There’s some clobbering going on here, Jacob! And honestly, this might be exactly what they NEED to do!
A double-superkick sends Anton into the corner but doesn’t knock him down! Another one follows before Jonna drops down on all fours and Lluvia gets a running start, letting the tandem hit Poetry in Motion on big Anton Palmer! The big man stumbles forward a litte but STILL doesn’t go down until Jonna and Lluiva boot him in the midsection and hit a double-DDT!
Jacob Frankel: And there he goes! I’d ask Noah what he thinks of this, but-
Noah is staring at the ring, expressionless, as Jonna moves to make the cover on Anton!
ONE…
TW-NO!
Gio bursts back into the ring, lowering a hard shot on Jonna to break up the pin! Lluiva goes after him but gets tossed into the air and blasted with a European uppercut on the way down! Kicking Lluvia out of the ring, Gio takes over on Jonna as, with Anton now on outside as well, some semblance of normalcy tag team rules can take over in this title match!
Bernadette Olson: Gio taking over on Jonna here, laying in some kicks… but she grabs the leg and brings him down!
Jacob Frankel: Jonna has a wealth of technical skill! Look at her grind her elbow into the quad of Gio here!
The leglock is keeping Gio grounded for the moment, letting Jonna batter the limb, but Gio kicks his way out with the other leg, in the process fetching Jonna hard across the jaw. Breaking free, he gets back to his feet, shaking out the leg a bit. Noah is looking on impassively from the table while Harper is checking on Lluvia and also keeping an eye on Jonna in the ring. Anton is back on his feet, getting into the Lost’s corner as Gio rams Jonna into the top buckle shoulder-first, then gives her one hell of an arm wringer, yanking on the limb and grinding the point of his elbow into the joint before tagging in his massive partner.
Bernadette Olson: This is gonna get bad. Anton is gonna be eager to get his pound of flesh!
Stepping into the ring, with Noah affecting the smallest of grins at the table, Anton grabs hold of the arm of Jonna and hoists her up into the air by it before shoving her down to the mat hard! A hammerlock scoop slam follows before he drops a knee on the arm and makes a cover.
ONE…
KICK-OUT!
Back up on the apron, Lluvia is already looking for a tag. Jonna tries to reach out to her but gets sent into the ropes and hit with a big boot, which sends her down hard. Anton turns to stare at Lluvia, pointing at her downed partner before going over to Jonna and palming her face with his hand, picking her up to her feet and shoving her into the buckles with that same grip! A running splash hits nothing as Jonna moves aside, but Anton snatches her by the hair before she can reach Lluvia! Kara warns Anton about the hair as Jonna twists her way out of that grip and catches the monster with a few chops! A headbutt sends her back down, though, and Anton brings Gio back in to continue the punishment.
Jacob Frankel: Saying Gio is the smaller one doesn’t really lend credence to how dangerous he is in that ring…
A point inadvertently emphasized by a snapping armdrag that’s turned into a cross armbreaker with great fluidity! Jonna is gritting her teeth, trying to find a way out, but Gio is relentless! Noah is wringing his hands in anticipation at the table as Jonna starts to edge her way toward the ropes. Gio pulls harder, but a last lunge allows Jonna to grab the bottom rope! Kara’s count gets to three before Gio lets go… and he immediately goes for the hold again! Jonna yanks him forward into a modified guillotine which has Gio flailing for a moment to find a way out, finally wrenching free!
Bernadette Olson: Gio threw himself back hard to get out of that… and Jonna makes the tag!
Jacob Frankel: And here comes Lluvia with a big springboard dropkick to knock Gio down!
Harper cheers Lluvia on as the hit almost sends Gio right out of the ring! He goes for a tag but she charges into Anton with a big front dropkick that sends him to the floor! Palmer lands on his feet and moves to get in, but Kara Tarantino keeps him from doing so, letting Lluvia take over on Gio! A swinging neckbreaker and a handspring leg drop get her a quick two-count once Kara is back to business, but Gio tries again to get the tag. He comes within a fingertip and Lluvia has to put her all into a backdrop suplex to keep him from bringing the monster back into the ring-
ONE…
TWO…
PIN INTERFERENCE!
-until he comes in anyway to break things up! Which, naturally, brings Jonna back in, leading to another huge melee between the two teams! Jonna and Lluvia try to send Gio slamming into Anton, but the big man scoops up and puts down his partner on the apron! The Frontline land a double-boot on Anton, but he shoves out of their attempt at a suplex, instead dropping both women with a double-clothesline!
Bernadette Olson: His power is just unreal! Gotta wonder if he’s one of those who could actually standing up to our new-
Jacob Frankel: Whoa, hey! Where’re you going?!
Noah is on his feet suddenly, arms at his sides. Harper sees this and creates some distance so she can eye the ring AND Noah, but for the moment he does not get out from behind the table. Anton drives Lluvia into the mat with a chokeslam, then hits a rushing Jonna with a colossal back body drop when she charges in to make the save! Tagging Gio back in, the Lost use an assisted crossbody to send Lluvia down hard… but the pin attempt only earns two-and-a-half for the champs! Anton is tagged back in but Lluvia goes low, dropkicking the knee! The big man is on one knee for a moment and Lluvia takes over with some hard knees to the face, doing her best to keep Anton down! Anton fights his way up and catches Lluvia out of the air as she sailed for a crossbody, hitting an over-the-shoulder powerslam!
ONE…

TH-NO!
SHOULDER UP!
Bernadette Olson: Close!
Glaring down at Lluvia, Anton whips her into the ropes but she catches herself on the top strand! She goes for Jonna to make a tag, but-
Jacob Frankel: Hey! Gio just yanked Jonna off the apron!
Bernadette Olson: Cheeky bastard!
Anton takes over on Lluvia while, on the outside, Harper confronts Gio! He looks amused by the idea of this until a forearm shot to the back of the head sends him staggering forward! Kara’s eyes turn towards the outside as an angry Jonna trades shots with Gio, getting the better of him long enough to send him sailing over the announce table-
Jacob Frankel: Hey! Careful!
-and right into Noah Ortega!
Bernadette Olson: Jonna used Gio to wipe out Noah! Damn near took our table down in the process!
Jacob Frankel: Yeah, what gives?! We aren’t Spanish!
Jonna rolls into the ring right after, pulling Lluvia out of a powerbomb attempt and helping her partner put the hurt on Anton! The double-team assault wears down the big man, allowing Jonna to hit a crushing spear that crumbles Palmer to the mat! She hurriedly points out the top rope to Lluvia, who starts making the climb. When she turns around, though-
Bernadette Olson: Noah Ortega! What the hell’s he doing in the ring?!
The Leader of the Lost stares down Jonna who stands between him and Anton! Jonna dares him to take a shot even as Lluvia sails off with her frog splash, completing Secret Horizon on Anton! Kara Tarantino is trying to get Ortega out of the ring when, from behind, Gio rolls back into the ring and nails Lluvia with one of the tag titles!
Jacob Frankel: Hey! Referee! Turn around!
Noah, seeing this, backs out of the ring as Gio gets rid of the evidence and turns Jonna around, hitting a reverse STO! Anton, barely functional, pushes Lluvia off of himself and rolls into a pin attempt as Noah watches from the outside!

Bernadette Olson: Damn them!
Jacob Frankel: The Lost damn well stole this match! That’s some bullshit!
DING! DING! DING!
Spirit Montego: The winners of the match… and STILL the Global Tag Team Champions… THE LOST!
Clearly none of the Lost are broken up about their tactics, as Gio hands over Anton’s belt while holding his up high! Harper and Jonna are checking on Lluvia, the belt shot seeming to have opened up a wound at the back of her head. Noah joins his charges, raising their arms himself as they head up the ramp, the boos raining down even harder now!
Bernadette Olson: Were they really feeling THAT threatened?! Honestly!
Jacob Frankel: The Frontline got robbed! If it weren’t for Noah’s distraction, we’d have new champs right now!
The fans clearly feel the same way, but there’s no undoing things as the Lost head to the back. A trainer comes down to help with Lluiva, but she walks up on her own with Harper and Jonna at her side.
Winners: The Lost (Still Champions)
Result: Pinfall at 16:15 (Belt Shot)

She adds blue curacao to the mix, then follows up with sweet-and-sour mix before closing the shaker. A few quick shakes later, and she strains the electric blue mixture into a highball glass filled with crystal clear ice cubes. She tops it off with lemon-lime soda, dropping a cherry into the glass before setting the finished beverage on top of a white napkin. She slides it across the bar into the hands of a waiting patron, whose back is to the camera, thus preventing us from seeing his face. He reaches for his wallet, but she shakes her head.

“Can’t Be Touched” by Roy Jones Jr. starts up, the fans immediately hailing the arrival with boos: Duke Andrews walks confidently out onto the stage, flanked by Noah Ortega and Clayton Kane. There’s not a whole lot of interaction between the three as they head down the ramp at their own pace, Andrews in the lead.
Spirit Montego: Introducing first at a combined weight of 731 pounds… the team of CLAYTON KANE, NOAH ORTEGA AND DUKE ANDREWS!
Duke is clearly carrying himself as the head honcho of this trio. Clayton is antisocial as always, drinking in the hate heaped upon him. The calmest of the triumvirate is Noah Ortega, who moves on the periphery of the team, glaring out at everyone from the turnbuckles after the group enters the ring.
Bernadette Olson: Not a good atom in any of these three, Jacob. Just trouble from top to bottom.
Jacob Frankel: You got that right! But they’re also tough, experienced and dangerous! Their opponents have an uphill climb tonight!
Noah drops down to the canvas and Clayton moves out onto the apron, obviously not interested in starting this match. Duke remains in the ring, leaning against the buckles as Noah has his attention locked on the stage as the theme fades, quickly replaced.
Spirit Montego: And now, introducing their opponents!
The happy keyboard intro of Van Halen’s “Dreams” starts up as the arena is bathed in blue. At the 0:30 mark, the sounds of jets flying overhead starts the song in earnest and Natural Resources, GoGo and Rain, along with their partner for the evening, Samantha Tolson, make their way through the entryway all smiles.
Spirit Montego: Competing tonight at a combined weight of 404 pounds, the team of SAMANTHA TOLSON AND NATURAL RESOURCES!
They greet the fans and then quickly make their way to the ring, making sure to wipe their feet before they enter. Both Rain and GoGo get up on the turnbuckles to wave out at the cheering masses, with Tolson standing between them. The three turn as “Dreams” fades out, facing down their very mean-looking opponents… not once losing their smile.
Bernadette Olson: There’s just no damaging the positivity of Natural Resources. That’s the sort of energy more people need in this business.
Jacob Frankel: I don’t know how they’re managing it considering who’s in front of them right now.
Bernadette Olson: It’s who they are. And they DO have Samantha Tolson on their side.
DING! DING! DING!
Noah Ortega starts things off for his team, while Rain starts for the opposing team. The tall blonde stands eye-to-eye with Ortega, the two locking up for a moment before Noah sends her into the ropes and shoulderblocks her down. The two exchange counters once Rain kips up, ending with her armdragging Noah to the mat. He’s up quickly and strikes with a chop, leading to Rain retorting with a boot to the face. She Irish whips him into the ropes and clotheslines him down, causing Ortega to roll out of the ring. He keeps his cool, but partner Clayton isn’t impressed and lets Ortega know about it, not getting a response from the leader of the Lost. Ortega rolls back in and drops a charging Rain with a drop toe hold, floating over into a front facelock. Rain twists out but is caught in a reverse neckbreaker by Noah, who suddenly finds himself tagged by Clayton!
Bernadette Olson: Static already? Noah was doing just fine in there.
Jacob Frankel: Clayton seems a little more on edge than usual tonight. Duke clearly finds this all amusing, though.
Bernadette Olson: That’ll change. The man’s all business.
Clayton enters the ring and Noah stares coldly at him, maintaining the look until Rain attacks Kane from behind! She knocks him into the ropes, catching him as he charges at her and hitting a belly-to-belly overhead suplex! Clayton springs to his feet, almost face-to-face with Samantha and GoGo. He pops off to both, turning just in time to level Rain with a clothesline. Pulling her up by the hair, he lands a few body shots, hits a snap suplex, then whips Rain into his team’s corner before tagging in Duke Andrews.
Duke takes over on Rain with boots to the midsection, following with a half-nelson suplex and a pin for a quick two. Rain is starting to feel the effects of the endless assault and though she elbows her way out of Duke’s headlock, she’s yanked to the mat by the hair and eats a few stomps before referee Zach Young can warn Andrews off. Duke goes to tag in Noah, but Clayton tags himself back in, causing Duke to raise a brow. Noah’s face is still made of stone, though, as Clayton takes over again on Rain. A spinebuster puts Rain down hard, but Samantha comes in to break up the resultant pin, drawing the irritation of the referee AND Clayton.
Jacob Frankel: The Radical comes off like he’s got something to prove. But he’s doing it at the expense of his partners.
Bernadette Olson: He’s been sour since the Global Heavyweight Tournament, but we know he’s got talent to spare. Why lose his head?
Jacob Frankel: Well, it IS the first HYBRID PPV of the new era, so… all eyes are on us.
Kane tells off Tolson, who brushes off the criticism, with Rain using the distraction to roll Clayton up for a quick two! A punt-style kick comes within half an inch of Rain’s head, but she rolls backwards and gets to her feet, ducking a clothesline from Clayton and rebounding off the ropes, delivering a running forearm and a hard back elbow when Kane recoils off the ropes from the first blow. With the opportunity there, Rain tags in GoGo, who immediately goes for the top rope while Clayton grabs Rain by the hair and hits a knee. He charges in but Rain hoists him up and drops him throat-first across the top rope before hitting a Russian leg sweep and sending GoGo off the top and onto the downed Kane with the Rocket Launcher!
ONE…
TWO…
KICK-OUT!
The high-energy GoGo bounds up to her feet and almost takes Kane’s head off with a buzzsaw-style kick. He evades this and backs into his team’s corner, with Noah giving Duke a look. Duke shrugs and Noah tags himself in. Clayton grabs his partner by the shoulder and spins him around to have words… only for Noah to move aside as GoGo comes charging in with a shotgun dropkick to send Clayton into the buckles! Duke doesn’t hide his chuckle and Noah, to his credit, snares GoGo with a bridged German suplex for a one-count as Clayton rolls out of the ring, kicking the steps in frustration.
Bernadette Olson: Noah not wasting any time in picking up where Clayton left off!
Jacob Frankel: GoGo fights back with an enzuigiri, though! Clayton’s back on up the apron and it looks like he and Duke are having words!
Bernadette Olson: Duke will talk some sense into him. Or else.
GoGo hammerlocks Noah, looking to drive him towards her team’s corner, but the crafty cultist slips out and snares her in a headlock, kicking off the ropes and driving her into the canvas with a bulldog!
ONE…
TWO…
KICK-OUT!
Rain is ready to break things up but GoGo escapes on her own, surprising Noah with a hurricanrana and a spinning headscissors, though the latter isn’t quite enough to let her reach out to Tolson, who’s eager to get in the fight! Noah goes for a second German but GoGo flips out of it, landing on her feet! A swipe from Duke in the corner, though, distracts her, and a spinning kick in retaliation is evaded by Duke with Clayton taking the hit instead! Clayton tries to barge into the ring only to be stopped by Zach Young, allowing GoGo to turn her attention back to Noah! A thumb to the eye, though, stalls the youngster, and a hair-pull neckbreaker brings her down hard! She still fights back up, though, making a tag to Samantha, who comes charging in only to be held back by the referee who didn’t see the tag!
Jacob Frankel: I’m not cheering for it, but Clayton did something useful at last!
Bernadette Olson: You realize the only thing keeping him from hearing you is the crowd right now, correct?
Jacob Frankel: What, you don’t think he can take a joke?
Sam is furious and Rain is none too pleased, either. Noah locks on a full nelson but GoGo kicks off the top rope and flips backwards, briefly putting Noah in a pinning predicament. He bridges out and the two exchange roll-ups until Noah grabs GoGo and hits a release German… inadvertently putting her close enough to her corner for a proper tag! Samantha tags in and Noah goes toe-to-toe with her, having his attempted suplex countered into a brainbuster by Tolson! Clayton takes a swipe at Sam, who dropkicks him off the apron and points right at Duke, wanting him in there to fight!
Bernadette Olson: Still some bad feelings there!
Jacob Frankel: No doubt about it! The question is… will Noah make the tag?!
And he most certainly does! Duke enters the ring and squares off with Tolson, trading shots with her and quickly getting the better of the exchange! A chokeslam is evaded, though, and a chop block brings Andrews down to a knee! He leans away from a running kick and hits a spinebuster on Tolson, which brings in Rain and GoGo with a tandem shoulderblock to stagger Andrews! With Sam back up, they hit a triple-dropkick to finally send the big man down! Clayton tags himself in as Noah trips up GoGo from behind, pulling her out of the ring! Rain turns to see her partner taken down and Clayton drives a running knee to the side of her head, sending Rain out of the ring as well! Tolson, though, immediately takes the fight to Kane, weathering his haymaker punches and delivering a kneeling jawbreaker! Sam wants Mind Your Head (Running V-Trigger) but ends up on Kane’s shoulders, spun out with a TKO! Duke goes to the other side of the ring, aiding Noah in his battle with Natural Resources while Clayton sets up for the FTW (Twisting Fisherman’s Neckberaker) on Samantha!
Bernadette Olson: Kane might put this one away, Jacob!
Sam is hoisted up, but grabs the rope, stalling the move from Clayton!
Jacob Frankel: She’s hanging on for dear life here, Bernadette!
Bernadette Olson: Meanwhile Duke and Noah are taking it to Natural Resources! Noah’s up on the apron while Duke has a hold of them-
Forcing her way down, Tolson hits a standing version of Mind Your Head, knocking Clayton into Noah, which sends him crashing to the floor! Rain and GoGo break away from Duke, managing a tandem DDT on the big man! Jarred by the hit, Clayton yells something at Noah on the outside a moment before he’s rolled up by Tolson!
ONE…
TWO…
TH-NO!
SHOULDER UP!
Shoved back, Tolson gets a running start at Clayton, who sends her over the top rope, almost onto Noah! Grabbed by Noah, she’s shoved into the apron, then rolled back into the ring, with Noah yelling back at Clayton to “finish this”! Tolson is getting to her feet and Kane rushes her, getting sent over the top rope himself! He lands on the apron, though, snatching Tolson by the hair and prompting her to hit a swinging kick that sends off the ring and onto Noah!
Jacob Frankel: Nasty landing there!
Bernadette Olson: These three need to keep their eyes on business!
GoGo and Rain try to keep Duke from getting involved, but it’s a losing battle as he lays in hard shots to GoGo and Rain in turn. Noah, starting to show his anger at these circumstances, lines up a target as Sam leaves the ring to deal with Clayton…
…and hits LOST HOPE OFF THE BARRICADE ON CLAYTON!
Jacob Frankel: Whoa! Bernadette, was that intentional?!
Sam is wondering the same thing as Noah stares at the struck Clayton with derision. Not wasting the moment, though, she rolls Clayton back into the ring as the replay shows via picture-in-picture. It’s hard to tell, but Sam seems to have moved just in time, or rather a few seconds earlier than that, showing that Noah probably could have stopped if he wanted to!
Bernadette Olson: I’m not sure it wasn’t!
Jacob Frankel: Tolson’s got Kane back in the ring and…
Bernadette Olson: Victory Drop Alpha!
ONE…
TWO…
…
THREE!
DING! DING! DING!
Spirit Montego: And your winners… the team of SAMANTHA TOLSON AND NATURAL RESOURCES!
Rolling from the ring to join her partners, Tolson looks on at the chaos as their arms are raised. Duke heads up the ramp with a shrug and a laugh while Noah is still staring down Clayton while backing up toward the stage. Clayton is still coming out of the haze of impacts leveled upon him, but it’s clear that he’s not pleased with the results!
Bernadette Olson: That one broke down in a hurry. You can’t afford a lapse when you’re facing opponents like these and Clayton went into business for himself.
Jacob Frankel: And it looks like he’s made an enemy in Noah Ortega, too…
Winners: Samantha Tolson & Natural Resources
Result: Pinfall at 13:22 (Victory Drop Alpha)
Result: Pinfall at 13:22 (Victory Drop Alpha)

Hikaru’s… Haven?
In the midst of order and chaos, a camera picks up on a new vision… or rather a familiar one. Dressed in a lovely pink kimono with golden embroidery, Mrs. Hikaru Yamamoto-Page graces us with her presence. Her dark hair is styled nicely in an updo with decorative chopsticks keeping her hair in place.
Bernadette Olson: What a sight for sore eyes.
Jacob Frankel: Right?! Mrs. Page is looking exquisite tonight. She can take my breath away…
Bernadette Olson: You can look, Jacob, but you can’t touch. Unless you want her husband to soccer kick you outta here!
Jacob Frankel: I'm just paying a compliment! Oh, and Bernadette, it’s a FOOTBALL kick. Get fancy.
The fans in attendance cheer for Hikaru on the rEvolution Tron! She glances over her shoulder and notices the camera with a smile.
Hikaru Page: Koni’chiwa, mi’naa!
She faces forward and slowly comes to a stop before a singular door. Reaching forward, she turns the handle and begins to open the door. What Hikaru sees shocks everyone as much as her!
Hikaru Page: W…wha…?
The camera moves in for a better visual. Her traditional setup for interviewers, Hikaru’s Haven, is completely ruined! The Japanese tea set is shattered across the floor, the contents spilled all around. The four corner pillars are knocked over and their vases broken into pieces. The matching black leather furniture is turned over and scored with marks. Even the painting of the Japanese cherry blossom tree is torn to shreds. Covering her mouth with a hand, Hikaru slowly and cautiously enters the room, surveying the damage.
Jacob Frankel: Oh man… Hikaru-chan, don’t go in there alone!
Bernadette Olson: This is awful! Mrs. Page was set to interview Bianca Davis, but now… Who could’ve done this?
Looking over her surroundings, Hikaru’s golden brown eyes seem to light up at something. She makes her way over to the shattered teapot and carefully moves the broken pieces away, revealing a small note written in red ink. The camera zooms in on a single sentence...
No one is safe.

The Royal Union
In a brightly lit room decorated by marble pillars, reflectively polished floor covered only by a thin red carpet with gold coloured tassels, and a long terrace overlooking a garden the quote-unquote “assistants'' Simon and Summer are hard at work polishing a pair of thrones. In Summer’s case, she doesn’t seem to mind her duties even though she was only ever asked to bear witness to Honey’s rise. Now she replaces her polishing cloth with a toothbrush to get into the decorative work of her Princess’ throne.
Summer: While I appreciate the support I’ve been asked to give Hon-er, my Princess, I feel this might be going a little far. Don’t you, Simon?
She asks as while she makes her declarations she still preps the throne for Honey’s coming arrival.
Simple Simon: Nothing is too good for the Queen, not a single thing and Honey by extension is royalty herself!
Simon says in a matter of fact tone as Simon preps the throne of the Queen, making sure it is just perfect for her arrival.
Summer: Miss. Honey certainly feels herself being that way.
Summer laughs a little though in a playful manner as she comes down to all fours where she can bring her focused efforts to the thrones’ legs.
Summer: If you don’t mind my asking, how did Miss. Bianca come to hold her Queen moniker?
Simple Simon nods his head as he says.
Simple Simon: The Queen is just that, the queen she has won beauty pageants in her youth, not counting just her presence when she enters a room. She knows she is the Queen, the rightful Queen of HYBRID. The Queen deserves honor, respect, and praise always! In this business she has won gold all over the world. Tonight we get to see the Ironheart championship come home to her as well.
Simon speaks enthusiastically about Queen Bianca Davis, as he keeps it up.
Simple Simon: That is why I dedicate myself to the Queen of HYBRID, her regin shall be glorious and is more deserved than any other. Now let's make sure this is perfect, our Queen shall be here soon, as well as the Princess and I don’t want to let down the Queen! Bad things happen when that occurs.
Summer appears a bit troubled when she hears the phrasing “our Queen” especially in comparison to how Honey is referred to as just “the Princess”. Summer nods and keeps her head lowered as she finishes her efforts on the throne when she can hear voices approaching the room. Summer jumps to her feet tucking her utilities away and gently kicks the bag to the side. Her hands clasp together in front of her as she bows on the entrance of both Bianca and Honey. Queen Bianca Davis dressed in her purple and black ring gear with a royal robe, and her tall black crown, coming next to her is Princess Honey Rydell dressed somewhat casually with some torn jeans and white button up under a black vest. Of course, she also has her polished tiara she had won from her pageant years ago. Summer, and Simon are bowed in front of them as they make their way toward their thrones, and sit on them. Queen Bianca begins to speak in a pompous fake British accented tone.
Queen Bianca Davis: Honey, isn’t this marvelous? Look around this is the type of treatment us as the only true Royalty in this place deserves. There is none, I mean none who come close to the regal presence we have. Let us remind them all of what will happen tonight. Fall of Man will be the rise of the Royal Couple as tonight I take on Jessie, and that pest Super Tiger, for the Ironheart title. A title that would look so much better around my waist don’t you agree?
Princess Honey: Not as good as it would appear around my own but I already digress, my Queen.
Honey certainly isn’t hiding her feelings here as Summer glances her way, but remains silent.
Princess Honey: To be honest, just seeing such a thing around the waist of common peasants…Aloysius should be ashamed. Maid,
Summer steps forward on being called upon.
Summer: Yes, Mi-your highness?
Princess Honey: I wish to spit in disgust. Come before me so I don’t need to turn my head so much.
Summer glances about the room but does as ordered, stepping in front of Honey and allowing her to spit on her face.
Summer: Very good, your highness.
Princess Honey: Out of my sight, curr, back where you belong.
Summer bows her head and steps back in behind Honey’s throne taking one of the dusting clothes from her apron pouch and uses it to wash the spit from her cheek.
Queen Bianca Davis: He should do so much better, after all, she should have never, ever had a title shot after what she did during my match, a match that I would have won thank you very much. Mikela Callaway had better thank Super Tiger every single day, quite frankly had the masked peasant not gotten involved I would be sitting here Global Champion.
Bianca said with a look of disgust plastered on her face, clearly disgusted at what had taken place.
Princess Honey: Then I think we make a royal proclamation. One that puts everyone on check.
Honey clears her throat.
Princess Honey: The royal couple is here to declare that as the Queens and Princesses of royal past have done, we will give aid to the needy peasantry class. You all want, but want brings suffering and pain. Turmoil and distrust. It’s about time someone came in saving you from yourselves. We won’t expect much thanks in kind, an expansive parade celebrating our crowning achievements will do.
Honey brings her hands together between her thighs and smiles.
Princess Honey: It will of course start with the Iron Heart Championship. Jessie, Tiger, your lives are set to get a lot easier when the trials of this championship are removed from your grasp. Think of everything you could achieve with so much time. Again, when the day comes, you needn’t thank us. At least not yet.
The Queen smirks as she looks directly into the camera with an evil smirk on her face.
Queen Bianca Davis: See we are united by a common bond, a common goal you could never understand or fathom in your simple minds. But, seeing all the disrespect for true royalty in HYBRID has disgusted the both of us to our very core, but Fall of Man will be the start of a new era in HYBRID.
Queen Bianca then points down as she says in a loud tone.
Queen Bianca Davis: All anyone who will need to do is simply bend the knee to the Royal Couple, to true Queen, and Princess of HYBRID!
Queen Bianca lets out an mainical laugh, as Princess Honey joins in as Simple Simon says in a loud proud tone.
Simple Simon: ALL HAIL THE ROYAL COUPLE, ALL HAIL THE PRINCESS OF HYBRID, and ALL HAIL THE QUEEN OF HYBRID!
All of a sudden the scene then fades to black.
MATCH FIVE
Iron Heart Championship Match
Triple Threat/One Fall
Bianca Davis vs. Jessie Robinson vs. Super Tiger (C)
Spirit Montego: Our next match tonight is a triple threat match set for one fall, and it is for the Iron Heart Championship!
Raucous cheers from the fans, which necessitates a pause on Spirit’s part before she gets to the introductions!
Spirit Montego: Introducing first, challenger number one!
The sound of royal trumpets can be heard as the lights dim and turn a violet hue as “Bad Bitch” by Bebe Rexha hits over the public address system. As the fans greet the sound with loud boos, first out is Simple Simon dressed in a nice suit, looking nervous and waving. He is quickly joined by Honey Rydel, who looks far more at ease. A few moments later, none other than Queen Bianca Davis herself makes her appearance, wearing her royal robe, her gear giving off Evil-Queen-from-Snow-White vibes along with her large, blackened crown.
Spirit Montego: Accompanied to the ring by Simple Simon and Honey Rydel… hailing from Malibu, California and weighing at 125 pounds… she is the self-proclaimed Queen of HYBRID… BIANCA DAVIS!
She poses smugly with both arms out, holding her black-and-purple scepter. After a few moments she gives them her royal wave as she saunters down with Simple Simon staying a few feet back and Honey at her side, soaking in the negative reaction looking disgusted at all the disrespectful peasants around her. The Malicious Queen saunters down some more as Simon yells for them to show some respect, exhorted by Honey, and to All Hail the Queen of HYBRID. Simon makes his way up the steel steps followed by the Queen herself, and demands the ref lower the ropes for them, which they do. First, Simon enters the ring getting everyone out of the way so the Queen and her Princess can make their royal entrance, raising her arms high in the air with her scepter in her right hand as the boos overtake the arena.
Bernadette Olson: Just no love for the Queen of HYBRID. And no, Jacob, we’re not surprised at that.
Jacob Frankel: I wasn’t gonna ask!
Bernadette Olson: Just trying to keep you out of trouble. Bianca got wind of your Burger Queen comment and she was none too happy.
Jacob Frankel: Yeah, well, I’m not taking it back!
Placing her arms down she hands Simon her scepter, and he moves it to the corner, as she then orders her simp to undo her robe for her, which he does. The Queen then shows off her body, and attire for all the booing fans as she twirls around a bit before taking the time to do her Royal Wave for them as she makes her way to the corner. Taking off her crown and handing it to Simon, as the Queen taunts the fans a bit more, taking a look at her nails before saying something to Simon who takes the time to fan her as she awaits her opponent. Honey, meanwhile, is on the outside giving the fans hell all on her own.
Bernadette Olson: Absent once again is Summer, Honey’s manager. She doesn’t think much of Bianca either.
Jacob Frankel: Some kind of silent protest, I suppose? I’ll bet she’s watching though, because tonight I’ve got a feeling that Bianca’s gonna be exposed!
Spirit Montego: And now, introducing challenger number two!
“Fist Bump” by Nathan Sharpe feat. Andrew Stein begins to play as the lights dance around the arena and Jessie comes running out of the entrance and onto the stage full of energy. They run across the stage, getting the crowd fired up. They leap in the air, smiling widely before starting to run down the ramp, slapping the hands of the fans on one side before running back up the other side doing the same thing.
Spirit Montego: From Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and weighing in at 145 pounds… JESSIE ROBINSON!
They then run back down the ramp and around the ring, soaking everything in from the crowd before they hop up onto the ring apron, sitting there for a second before leaping up and over the top rope, landing with a superhero landing in the ring smiling and getting back up and heading to their corner.
Bernadette Olson: The high-energy Jessie Robinson makes their appearance… and already Bianca is trying to take a shot at them!
Only stopped by Kara Tarantino, Bianca tries to lunge at Jessie, who turns around, ready to fight. Despite the yelling of Simple Simon and Honey Rydel on the outside, Jessie shows no fear. They even kick the ropes near Bianca’s seconds, making them jump back before turning a firm stare on the other challenger!
Jacob Frankel: Jessie isn’t gonna be intimidated tonight, Bernadette! They know what this match is all about!
Bernadette Olson: They’re still seeking their first win in HYBRID, and I gotta admit this would be a hell of a night to get it!
Jacob Frankel: Wouldn’t it, though?! However, their friend, the champion, might have something to say about that!
Things eventually calm down in the ring, and Spirit takes the opportunity to make the final introduction.
Spirit Montego: And now, introducing the champion!
As the heavy metal cover of "Eye of the Tiger" by Leo Moracchioli begins, rainbow-colored pyro erupts from the front of the stage, and Super Tiger comes flying up seemingly from underneath. She grins into the camera, throwing up a peace sign next to her face and winking for the crowd before making her way down the ramp, the Iron Heart Championship around her waist!
Spirit Montego: Residing in Chicago, Illinois and weighing in at 125 pounds, she is the REIGNING and DEFENDING Iron Heart Champion… the Diminutive Dynamo… SUPER TIGER!
She high fives every fan she can, pausing at the bottom to take a picture with a young member of the crowd before giving them a replica of the mask she's wearing. She then runs around the ring, continuing to slap palms with every hand stuck out over the barricade. When she's made a full circuit, she doesn't slow, leaping to slide into the ring on her stomach before going straight into a somersault and then leaping to her feet. As she lands, she hits a deep dab, pyro blasting from the corner posts before she rises back up, winking again at the camera with a pair of finger guns before backing into her corner, taking off the title and holding it up before draping it over her shoulder.
Bernadette Olson: No one gets a crowd ignited like Super Tiger, but you know good and well she’s conflicted tonight.
Jacob Frankel: One hundred percent. But Tiger’s not the sort to let that get in the way of doing business. She’s the champion and she means to stay that way.
Bernadette Olson: Having Jessie in the match will be both a blessing and a curse in that she at least has someone who can help her counter the shenanigans of Bianca Davis, but she also has a second person looking to take her belt… and Tiger doesn’t even have to be pinned.
Jacob Frankel: It’s still hard not to have faith in her, even with the odds against her.
Kara Tarantino briefly holds up the title for the fans to see, then hands it off and calls for the bell-
DING! DING! DING!
-and immediately Bianca leaves the ring, heading to the floor. Folding her arms, she tosses her hair and ignores the catcalls of the fans while Jessie and Tiger exchange glances. Honey cheers her partner on while Simon fans Bianca and yells at the referee to wave champion and challenger back until Bianca is good and ready!
Bernadette Olson: Oh, for the love of-!
Shrugging, Tiger and Jessie lock up, pushing back and forth with Jessie’s slight strength advantage due to their size allowing them to urge Tiger back. Bianca, finally taking exception to the fans, turns to jaw at them, whereupon Tiger and Jessie share a grin before breaking loose, hitting the ropes, and nailing stereo topes to wipe out Simon and Honey respectively! Bianca senses something is wrong, but has no time to react other than to shriek aloud as Tiger and Jessie both grab hold of her and roll her into the ring!
Jacob Frankel: Now it’s time for a little punishment! The Burger Queen’s gonna get what’s coming to her!
Bernadette Olson: I’m tellin’ you, you better lay off that…
Bianca does her best to beg off, offering money and perhaps more to Tiger and Jessie, but neither are having it. They put the boots to the self-proclaimed Queen, kicking and stomping away while Bianca tries to cover up. Brought up to her feet, she’s whipped into the ropes and dropped with a double back elbow. Jessie pulls her up after and, along with Tiger, delivers a tandem vertical suplex, leaving Bianca arched up on the mat, holding her back. Afterward, Tiger gestures for Jessie to take the lead, and the young star does just that, hitting a tornado kick and a standing moonsault on Davis before going for the pin!
ONE…
TW-NO!
KICK-OUT!
Jacob Frankel: Tiger didn’t try to break up the pin there, oddly enough!
Bernadette Olson: Experience, Jacob. She knows that wasn’t enough to put down Bianca. So why butt in?
Jessie shrugs off the kick-out and sends Bianca into the ropes again, but Honey grabs her and pulls her out of the ring before Jessie can land a hit! In that moment of distraction, Tiger rolls Jessie up with a schoolgirl!
ONE…
KICK-OUT!
Coming up surprised, Jessie whips around to see Tiger standing there, shrugging her shoulders and reminding Jessie that this match is every person for themselves! Nodding in understanding, Jessie offers her hand to Tiger, who accepts it… and gets pulled into a lovely bridging Northern Lights suplex!
ONE…
TW-NO!
Tiger rolls out and up to her feet in a hurry, but cracks a smile at Jessie as the young person is learning quickly. Now Tiger and Jessie lock up again though this time it’s a stalemate taking them to the ropes, along them and all the way to the turnbuckles. Jessie breaks clean, but hiptosses Tiger when they charge out of the corner! Bianca rolls back in at this point, delivering a backcracker to Jessie, leaving them to roll out of the ring. Taunting Tiger gets the champion to give chase, and Bianca draws her to the far corner, using a drop toe hold to send the masked woman face-first to the middle buckle while, on the outside, Honey and Simon take a few liberties with Jessie behind the referee’s back! Bianca throws kicks and punches at Tiger, battering them down to the canvas before choking them with her boot, drawing the requisite five-count from Kara Tarantino!
Jacob Frankel: Now what the hell is this?! Some divide and conquer crap?! How fair is that?!
Bernadette Olson: Par for the course with Bianca Davis!
Jessie manages to escape the clutches of Bianca’s crew, rolling back into the ring. She charges at Bianca, who sees her coming at the last moment and steps aside! Jessie nearly drives a boot into Tiger’s face as a result, and Bianca goes for a German suplex on Jessie, but the Super Bean flips out of this and lands on their feet! Another tornado kick rocks Davis, who stumbles backwards, right into Tiger, who delivers a Family Legacy (Standing Shiranui) to bring Bianca down! She goes for the pin while Jessie catches their breath…
ONE…
TWO…
NO! SIMON PUTS THE FOOT ON THE ROPES!
Jacob Frankel: For crying out loud!
Simon manages to hide his infraction, but Jessie sees it. Tiger hits a snap suplex on Bianca and Jessie keeps their distance, backing into the ropes while subtly looking over their shoulder. When Honey makes the grab for Jessie’s ankle, Jessie stomps that hand, then falls on their face, yelling out as they go! Kara Tarantino turns to see what’s going on and makes a firm decision:
She ejects Honey and Simon from ringside!
Bernadette Olson: Hah! Look at Jessie! The kid’s got some smarts in them! I love it!
Jacob Frankel: Take that, you goons! If Bianca wants to win the title, she’s gotta do it on her own!
Bianca, furious, yells at the referee over what just happened… but then spots the smirking Jessie, who makes a face at the self-proclaimed queen! Snapping, Bianca runs her over with a lariat, then mounts and punches the hell out of Jessie. Tiger goes to pull Bianca off, but takes a hard elbow to the jaw and has her mask yanked off-center! Bianca delivers Crowned (Implant DDT) to Tiger and goes for the pin!
ONE…
TWO…
THE PIN IS BROKEN UP BY JESSIE!
Furiously, Bianca turns on Jessie, yelling at them, but she eats a slap in response, as Jessie has had enough! A headbutt rocks Bianca, and a hard forearm uppercut sends Bianca to a knee. Jessie goes for a DDT, but with the referee out of position, a low blow puts an end to that idea, with Bianca hitting the Queen’s Makeover (Sit-Out Facebuster) on Jessie before rolling them up for a pin attempt!
ONE…
TWO…
SHOULDER UP!
Tiger, having righted their mask, snatches Bianca by the hair and blasts them in the back of the head with a forearm shot. Bianca, though, goes for the eyes with her manicured nails and hits another Queen’s Makeover, this time on Tiger!
ONE…
TWO…
KICK-OUT!
Bernadette Olson: I’m almost impressed! Bianca is taking on both Tiger and Jessie and handling herself pretty well!
Jacob Frankel: That’s what I don’t get! She can wrestle as well as anyone, but she’s gotta be this huge brat! Why?! Just go out there and fight and win!
Bernadette Olson: You gonna ask why the sky’s blue next?
Both opponents are down and Bianca is furious, as neither will stay down for three! Finally, furious, she heaves Jessie out of the ring and turns her focus on Tiger. Tiger, however, breaks out of Bianca’s grip much to the challenger’s surprise and grabs her by the hair, throwing hard forearm shots! Backing Bianca into the ropes and all but ignoring the referee’s instructions, Tiger lays into the self-proclaimed queen, hitting a single-knee facebreaker and the Tiger Pounce (Springboard Spinning European Uppercut) for a near-fall! Jessie is still fighting their way back to their feet when Tiger snaps off a suplex on Bianca, though Davis rolls away before Tiger can deliver Flight of the Tiger (Rotating Frog Splash)! Instead, Tiger drops down and just nails a flying clothesline on Bianca instead!
Jacob Frankel: The champion is wearing out Bianca and, well, as much as I like seeing this, she’s cruising for trouble if she keeps pushing the rules!
Bernadette Olson: If I didn’t know better, I’d say you didn’t WANT Tiger to take liberties with Bianca!
It takes Bianca turning one of Tiger’s charges into a stun-gun move across the top rope for the self-proclaimed queen to get any respite. But the moment Tiger is briefly out of the picture, Jessie is right back in and taking the fight to Bianca! They pound away with clubbing shots to the head and back of Bianca, forgetting themselves for a moment until the referee’s count snaps them back! Jessie looks almost apologetic, but a cheap shot by Bianca changes that in a hurry! Covering up from the charging Jessie, Bianca is still backed into a corner while Tiger regains their senses, which means double-trouble for the would-be queen!
Tiger literally pushes Jessie away from Bianca and takes her own fight to the self-proclaimed queen. Jessie looks confused at the sudden violence from Tiger, watching from the canvas as Tiger drags Bianca out onto the apron, running Bianca’s face along the ropes and throwing some hard shots to the face to exacerbate the suffering! Bianca goes for the mask again but gets knocked around, her back to Tiger as the champion sets up Go The Fuck To Sleep (Apron Snap German Suplex)! Bianca first tries to break Tiger’s grip, but when that fails she snatches hold of the top rope! Tiger forces the issue and tries to wrench Bianca loose…
Jacob Frankel: Whoa, look out!
…but instead Tiger’s grip breaks and she crashes hard on the floor, landing directly on her shoulder and head! Not a sound is made aside from the gasp of the fans who see the landing, with Tiger seemingly unconscious! Kara Tarantino, not seeing all of what has happened, only sees Bianca re-entering the ring. Jessie, on the other hand, goes to the ropes to see what has happened when Tiger doesn’t pop back up like usual!
Bernadette Olson: Oh… oh, hell! That doesn’t look good at all!
Jacob Frankel: Crap! Can we get some help out here?!
The rest happens quickly: Jessie makes noise about Tiger being down on the outside and Kara Tarantino, seeing Tiger and the state she’s in, freezes! Bianca, in the ring, has a split-second thought and strikes Jessie from behind, hitting the Red Bottom Shot (Brazilian Kick), and rolling them up! The referee, looking back and forth between outside the ring and what’s going on inside, drops down to make the count!
ONE…
TWO…
…
THREE!
Jacob Frankel: Are you fucking SERIOUS right now?!
Bernadette Olson: I mean, the match was technically still going on, so…
Kara Tarantino calls for the bell, somewhat reluctantly-
DING! DING! DING!
-and then throws up the X! In moments, trainers are running down to the ring to check on Tiger while Jessie, caring not a little for what just happened, is immediately outside the ring checking on their friend along with the rest. Bianca, however, seems more perturbed that she has not been announced as the winner nor had her arm raised. Furious, she grabs the belt from the timekeeper and is quickly joined by Simple Simon and Honey Rydel, who ignore the proceedings as they head up the ramp, Bianca holding the title up high!
Bernadette Olson: Damn it… this isn’t looking good from where I’m sitting. They’re calling for a stretcher for Tiger.
Jacob Frankel: And of course, they have to go AROUND Bianca! Is there no end to that woman’s arrogance? I swear!
Bernadette Olson: Look, don’t get all worked up about it… just… good thoughts for Tiger, yes?
Jacob Frankel: Yeah, you’re right…
Jessie is clearly very upset about what’s going on, trying to be of help as Tiger is loaded onto the stretcher. The crowd is clearly upset as well, cheering for Tiger as she’s rolled up the ramp. Before they get behind the curtain, the semi-conscious warrior gives the fans a brief thumbs-up, which gets the cheers to going again.
Bernadette Olson: That’s some small relief…
Jacob Frankel: If we get any updates on her condition, fans, you’ll be the first to know.
Winner: Bianca Davis (New Champion)
Result: Pinfall at 16:57 (Red Bottom Shot)
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Bet on Me
We cut backstage to Aiden Morrow, standing in his locker room. He’s dressed down in his ring gear already but he also has something special on his shoulder, the Midwest Championship, the top championship of MWCW.
Aiden Morrow: What’s up? As you can see, I’ve had quite a run of success of late.
He looks down at this championship with a grin as he taps it.
Aiden Morrow: A lot of people were doubting me when I made my little comeback. Ya see, I took some time off since Underground closed last year. I took some time to reflect, to get back to basics and to spend time with my two sons. It was a great year to be honest.
He paused and nodded.
Aiden Morrow: Sometimes, you need to reset and re-calibrate when you lose sight of what’s right. I won’t lie, I lost sight for a moment. I’m not afraid to admit that. But now? I’m back to being who I want to be, and that’s a hero to my two boys.
He walked closer to the camera.
Aiden Morrow: But also, a hero to all the kids out there that are watching. A hero that they can look up to. I’m going to do that by doing things the right way and setting an example. The Beggar King? I respect his abilities and that he’s going to do things the right way. He made a promise and I believe him. Unlike Duke Andrews and Sam Tolson? He has honor. Those two weren’t fit for this opportunity, for this match. They weren’t fit to be the one to lead Hybrid as it’s Global Heavyweight Champion. But I am.
He points toward his chest.
Aiden Morrow: But I am and I’m not going to let this opportunity go to waste. Eddy is great, probably the best here. His experience knows no bounds. But he was done, wasn’t he? Now he came back here, but how long will that last for? How much longer does the Beggar King have?
Aiden shook his head.
Aiden Morrow: Not as long as me. I’m going to be the guy to lead this company. The face of Hybrid. The Aerialist of Tomorrow? Is about to be the Aerialist of Today. Bet.
He walked off screen and the scene cuts away.
MAIN EVENT
Global Heavyweight Championship Match
Singles/One Fall
Aiden Morrow vs. Eddy Todd (C)
Bernadette Olson: It’s time now for the main event, ladies and gentlemen!
Jacob Frankel: Better strap in, cause this one’s gonna get real!
"Bury A Lie" by Rain City Drive blares over the PA system and Aiden Morrow walks out to the top of the entrance way and the fans begin to cheer. He smiles and holds his arms up out in the air horizontally while soaking in the crowd. He then walks down the ramp before sliding into the ring. Aiden then jumps up onto the turnbuckle and raises his hands in the air before hopping down and waiting in the corner for the match to begin.
Bernadette Olson: The challenger is all smiles and full of energy. I suppose that’s a good thing, right?
Jacob Frankel: Positive thinking can go a long way, Bernadette! And like they say, every little bit helps.
Bernadette Olson: I’ll acquiesce to the fact that he needs every boost he can get considering what’s coming. That’s no shot against Aiden, but acknowledgement of the champion.
Jacob Frankel: Fair point. But I like Aiden’s chances, even against Eddy Todd.
The music quiets and the fans murmur a bit in anticipation before…
Bernadette Olson: And speaking of the Beggar King…
Fog starts to slowly fill the entrance area as the intro to “Save Yourself” by Stabbing Westward starts up. Pale green lights illuminate the fog as “The Beggar King” Eddy Todd steps out from the back. He looks out over the crowd with a smirk on his face.
“I know your life is empty
And you hate to face this world alone
So you're searching for an angel
Someone who can make you whole
I cannot save you
I can't even save myself
So just save yourself”
Eddy starts to stroll towards the ring. He occasionally gives random high fives to random fans, mostly the older adults that would have known him from before. He makes his way to the ring at his own pace glancing around at the ring, the crowd, the arena, just generally taking in the environment. He makes his way towards the far set of ring steps. He leans against the guard rail as she shoots a look towards the timekeeper and then the announcers.
“I know that you've been damaged
Your soul has suffered such abuse
But I am not your savior
I am just as fucked as you
(I am just as fucked as you)
I cannot save you
I can't even save myself
So just save yourself”
He climbs the steps rapidly and walks along the apron. He steps through the ropes and moves to one of the corners. He climbs to the second rope and holds a fist up in the air as he looks out to the crowd. He then hops down and prepares for the match to start.
Jacob Frankel: The man has presence. All semblance of a smile has gone from Aiden Morrow; he’s locked in on champion and championship.
Bernadette Olson: Good. That’s how it should be. And Eddy knows the challenger is looking his way, but he’s keeping his focus.
Jacob Frankel: Some might take that as an insult. You should at least accept your opponent’s attention.
Bernadette Olson: Maybe, maybe not. Eddy’s probably just in the zone. That’s where Aiden needs to be himself.
Jacob Frankel: Fine, I’ll give you that one.
The arena darkens a bit as the music fades, with a spotlight on both participants and on the ring announcer, who steps forward with the stick raised.
Spirit Montego: Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for the main event of the evening! Your referee for this match will be HYBRID Senior Official Butch Grant!
The leathery and tough Butch steps forward at the sound of his name, but makes no other gesture, standing like a soldier awaiting orders. Some cheers do come out for the fellow, though, as Spirit carries on.
Spirit Montego: The following match is set for-
Crowd: ONE FALL!
Spirit Montego: -and it is for the HYBRID Global Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first… the challenger!
Spirit gestures towards Aiden, who steps forward with the spotlight following.
Spirit Montego: From Santa Monica, California and weighing in at 200 pounds, he is the Aerialist of Tomorrow… this… is AIDEN MORROW!
Morrow gets a big reaction from the HYBRID Nation, which he acknowledges with a raising of his fists into the air, prompting them to get even louder for a moment. He steps back as Spirit turns her attention to the other corner.
Spirit Montego: And now… introducing the champion! From Los Angeles, California and weighing in at 270 pounds, he is the REIGNING and DEFENDING Global Heavyweight Champion… the Beggar King… EDDY TODD!
As hard as they roared for Aiden, the fans shake the rafters for the Beggar King, who holds the belt up high as he walks to the ropes, giving everyone an eyeful of what it’s all about. Returning to the center of the ring, along with Aiden, Eddy stares down at the belt for a moment before handing it off to Butch Grant, who holds it up hight between the two men before laying out the rules. Aiden and Eddy nod in agreement and knock fists before stepping back as the lights come up and Spirit leaves the ring. Butch gestures for the bell…
DING! DING! DING!
…and we’re under way!
Bernadette Olson: Right away we get a lock-up from champion and challenger… and Eddy shoves Aiden back, sending him into the ropes!
Jacob Frankel: Just testing the waters on Aiden’s part, Bernadette! But to be fair, there shouldn’t have been a need with Eddy having four inches and 70 pounds on him!
Hung up in the ropes a bit, Aiden nods slowly and rights himself, preparing to get up close and personal with Eddy again. They lock up a second time but Aiden goes behind Eddy with a waistlock, trying to bring the champion down to the mat. Eddy smartly twists out and puts Aiden in a hammerlock but Aiden easily counters out, transitioning into a side headlock. Eddy backs them into the ropes and shoots the challenger off. A clothesline is attempted but Aiden ducks under and lands a dropkick against Eddy’s spine, sending the champ staggering a few steps forward. A running knee knocks the champion fully against the ropes. Eddy, based on his expression, is marginally impressed by the attacks from the challenger. That expression changes when Aiden leaps over the top rope with a running start, grabbing Eddy by the head and snapping his throat off the upper strand! The champion recoils and the challenger is feeling it as they get to the apron and set up for the Flying Morrow Smash (Phenomenal Forearm)!
Bernadette Olson: Going high-risk already is the challenger and I can’t say I blame him, but-
Lithely springing to the top rope, Aiden sails off with the right arm cocked!
Jacob Frankel: Oh, Jeezus wept! What a shot!
Bernadette Olson: Eddy damn near knocked himself a little loopy with that one, but Aiden definitely took the worst of it!
Morrow is on the mat, clutching his head, while Eddy is trying to shake off the impact on his end. A picture-in-picture replay shows in slow-motion Eddy lunging at Aiden with a headbutt, knocking the Aerialist of Tomorrow out of the sky with force! Back to full-screen, Eddy pulls Aiden up by the hair and whips him hard into the buckles, following in with a hard clothesline, then a second one, before a final charge sees Eddy facewash the challenger, leaving him seated on the canvas against the buckles. The champion charges into the buckles, looking to drive his knee into the side of Aiden’s head, but the challenger rolls aside at the last moment, pulling Eddy backwards with a schoolboy roll-up!
ONE…
KICK-OUT!
The champion is far from done but Aiden seeks to keep up the pressure, rolling Eddy into a La Magistral cradle!
ONE…
KICK-OUT!
Still not getting more than one, Aiden allows Eddy to get semi-vertical and attempts a sunset flip!
Jacob Frankel: And Eddy puts the brakes on the trifecta! Good grief, he just snatched Aiden off the mat with both hands like a child!
Bernadette Olson: Sit-out chokebomb from the champion! Cover!
ONE…
TWO…
KICK-OUT!
Jacob Frankel: You could see the air bursting out of Aiden’s lungs there, but he still had the energy to kick out! Impressive!
Bernadette Olson: Too many more impacts like that, though, and this will be over in a hurry!
Aiden seems to know that, but Eddy is done feeling things out. He scoops up Aiden and slams him to the mat, putting the boots to him a few times but not enough to concern Butch Grant, who has both eyes on the action at all times. An Irish whip leads to a shoulderblock and a jumping leg drop from Eddy, who floats over into another cover for a quick two-count. Aiden sends some elbows to Eddy’s midsection, breaking out of the champion’s grip, but gets goozled after slipping free. Hoisted up for a chokeslam, Aiden escapes and lands behind Eddy, waistlocking him and driving him into the ropes. A German suplex is easily thwarted, but some hard kicks to the back of Eddy’s right leg slows him down a bit. Dropped to a knee, Eddy is yanked backwards with a reverse DDT and Aiden goes for a pin of his own, getting a two-count!
Jacob Frankel: Chop the big guy down and things get a little easier! Aiden is slowly wearing Eddy down here!
Bernadette Olson: Thing is, Eddy isn’t new to any of this, Jacob. Aiden is one of those young guys who prides himself on being creative in the ring. He’s gonna have to dig deep to keep Eddy on defense.
Wanting time to come up with some kind of strategy, Aiden clamps on a tight chinlock, just shy of a crossface, trying to squeeze breath and energy out of the champion. Eddy’s long legs let him reach the ropes after some effort, but rather than breaking the hold, Aiden shifts into the Morrow Lock (LeBell Lock), putting yet more pressure on the champion! There’s not as much leeway for the champion to work with here, and his face is reddening from the pressure being put on by Aiden!
Jacob Frankel: Even if this isn’t enough o make the champion tap, he’s still taking some fight out of the Beggar King here!
Eddy slowly starts to push up, Aiden’s eyes widening in surprise as soon he’s up on the champion’s shoulder with Eddy fully vertical! A hurricanrana is attempted, but the champion holds on and muscles Aiden back up, looking for a powerbomb! Aiden slithers down behind Eddy for another sunset flip attempt, only to get stomped on the head by Eddy! A second stomp comes immediately after, with Eddy bracing the sole against Morrow’s hairline and giving it a nasty twist! Butch warns Eddy about those tactics but the champion brushes it off and scoops Aiden up and onto his shoulder, dropping him face-first across the top turnbuckle! Aiden is still on his feet after, but not for long as he stumbles into Eddy, who delivers Execution (Fireman’s Carry Neckbreaker) and immediately covers!
ONE…
TWO…
KICK-OUT!
Eddy pulls Aiden up, not giving him a moment’s respite, and blasts him with a few hard knees to the midsection. Yanked in between the champion’s legs, Aiden is hoisted up, but punches his way out of another powerbomb attempt! Dropped, he lands unsteadily, but catches Eddy with a boot to the guts and a snap DDT! Both men are down for several moments now, with Butch making a count as champion and challenger take a second or two to stir!
Bernadette Olson: Solid counter! But how much time did it buy the challenger?!
Jacob Frankel: Even a few moments could make the difference, Bernadette!
Bernadette Olson: Provided they aren’t wasted!
Smacking some sense into himself, Aiden is up by the count of five, while Eddy needs until six. He looks up to see Aiden already in motion, and while he gets an arm up to take some of the edge off Aiden’s enzuigiri, the blow still staggers the champion! Another snap DDT is attempted but Eddy shoves Aiden back and turns a charge into a back body drop on the challenger! Showing surprising dexterity, Aiden turns and lands on his feet behind the champion, whipping Eddy into the corner and nailing a big shining wizard on the Beggar King! Throwing his all behind it, he scoops the bigger man up for a well-executed brainbuster, then follows up with a running shooting star press! The fans are erupting at the high-speed combination and Aiden, not wasting a moment, moves into the pin!
Jacob Frankel: Was that enough?!
ONE…
TWO…
TH-NO!
SHOULDER UP!
Bernadette Olson: No! Butch Grant was right there and the shoulder got up at two!
Jacob Frankel: Damn close!
The champion is on defense and the wind is at the challenger’s back! Pumped up now, even more so than before, Aiden measures the champion and this time gets all of his enzuigiri, stepping off the champion’s own bent leg for extra impact! Looking to the turnbuckles, pointing them out to the fans, who are all too eager to see what’s coming, Aiden springs up to the top rope and measures Eddy for the Blyzzard (Shooting Star Press)... but the champion rolls out of the ring, much to the HYBRID Nation’s disappointment!
Bernadette Olson: They can boo all they like, but that was a smart move!
Jacob Frankel: And clearly one Aiden was prepared for!
Eddy doesn’t have time to congratulate himself for his ring awareness, as by the time he turns to see what became of Aiden, the challenger is already airborne, delivering a scintillating floating moonsault onto Eddy from the top rope! Pumping his fist from the floor, Aiden gets to his feet, trying to pull the larger Eddy up and get him back into the ring, which he does by the count of six! Eddy is back to his feet quickly enough, but he seems to not know where he is! Aiden, though, does not have that problem… and this time, the Flying Morrow Smash lands dead-on, driving Eddy down to the mat, whereupon Aiden makes another pin attempt!
ONE…
TWO…
THR-NO!
SHOULDER IS UP!
Knowing he was less than half a count from three, Aiden holds up a frustrated three fingers to Butch Grant, who shows him two in response. Still, Aiden keeps his cool and puts the boots to Eddy a few times before leaping over him, springboarding off the second rope, and hitting an elbow to the heart! Pulling Eddy from the ropes to near center-ring, Aiden heads up top yet again and almost immediately sails into the Blyzzard!
Bernadette Olson: And Aiden gets all of it! Was that enough?!
Jacob Frankel: Referee’s in position!
ONE…
TWO…
THREE?!
NO!
EDDY GETS A FOOT ON THE ROPES!
Bernadette Olson: Good grief! It don’t get no closer!
That’s exactly how Aiden feels! Knowing he has to keep this up before the champion can recover, he throws caution to the wind and sets Eddy up for the No-Fly Zone (Double-Underhook Piledriver)... but he can’t get the big man up! A few knees are thrown, and even a few elbows to the back to soften the champion up! Aiden cinches Eddy in for a second time, but the champion breaks free and nails Kingdom Come on the challenger!
Jacob Frankel: Kingdom Come! Eddy has won so many matches with that move!
Bernadette Olson: And this might prove to be another one!
A few moments after impact, Eddy rolls over and drapes an arm across Aiden’s chest!
ONE…
TWO…
THREE?!
NO!
AIDEN GETS A SHOULDER UP AT TWO-AND-SEVEN-EIGHTHS!
Jacob Frankel: The HYBRID Nation gasped so hard they almost blew the ring over!
Bernadette Olson: WAY too close! Even Eddy looks shocked!
And rightfully so, considering how effective Kingdom Come has been for the champion! Eddy, shaking his head, turns and makes a second pin attempt, this time intending to hook the far leg, but Aiden pulls him into a Koji clutch out of nowhere! He wrenches tight on the champion, trying to squeeze a submission out of him as Eddy flails a bit, finding himself just out of reach of the ropes!
Jacob Frankel: Hold on tight, kid! You’ve got that beast by the tail and if you let go-
It looks as though Eddy is going to power his way up again, but Aiden twists himself as he lets go, headscissoring Eddy into the ropes, leaving the champion draped over the second strand! Slingshotting over the top, Aiden drops a leg across the back of Eddy’s neck! The champion recoils, but is still back on his feet. Aiden springboards into the ring and Eddy ducks the attack! Aiden rolls up to his feet and charges! Eddy throws an arm out for the Kingdom Come but Aiden slides beneath! Pele kick! Eddy is rocked! Aiden tries for a Tiger suplex! Eddy breaks loose! Stunner from the champion… but Aiden grabs the ropes and blocks it! Rolling neck snap from Aiden! Sliding dropkick to the champion! Aiden heads back up to the top rope!
Bernadette Olson: He wants to put this thing away with the Blyzzard, Jacob, and if he lands it again-
Jacob Frankel: -that would have to be it!
Aiden’s thoughts exactly! He sails off with perfect rotation!
BUT EDDY GETS THE KNEES UP!
Bernadette Olson: Crash and burn!
Jacob Frankel: Aiden better think of something in a hurry!
Eddy, still hurting, scoops Aiden up and ascends to the second rope, hitting a crushing Fall From Grace (Avalanche Samoan Drop) that almost sends Aiden all the way across the ring! In the corner, getting some of his wind back, Eddy measures the challenger and puts all of his 270 pounds into a hellacious charge, the clothesline almost sending Aiden out of the ring entirely! Eddy puts the challenger up on his shoulders, electric-chair style, and says that that’s it!
Bernadette Olson: We both know what the champ’s thinking here, Jacob!
Jacob Frankel: The finisher to end all finishers, Bernadette: Take the Throne!
Aiden, though, digs deep and finds the last scraps of adrenaline his body has left! He drives the point of his elbow into the top of Eddy’s head once… twice… three times! Eddy holds on, though, until Aiden drives a hard crossface shot across Eddy’s nose, following up with a poison rana that has the champion landing awkwardly and sending Aiden rolling away in a heap! With the champion down again, Aiden measures once, twice… and runs in for a shining wizard! Eddy scoops him up, though, leaving Aiden shocked as he’s turned around and brought down with Take The Throne (Electric Chair Sit-Out Facebuster)!
Bernadette Olson: Take The Throne!
Jacob Frankel: Come on, Aiden… I know you got something left in you!
Eddy pulls himself over and makes the pin, hooking the far leg as Butch drops down to count!
ONE…
TWO…
THREE?!
THREE!
DING! DING! DING!
Spirit Montego: Ladies and gentlemen, your winner… and STILL the HYBRID Global Heavyweight Champion… EDDY TODD!
Eddy is back on his feet in short order, accepting the title when it’s handed to him and allowing his arm to be raised. Aiden, to his credit, is shaking off the brain-rattling impact from the Beggar King and is working his way up to his feet via the ropes. Eddy picks up on this in his peripheral and turns around as though expecting another fight. Aiden isn’t about that, though, and instead extends his hand to the champion. The Beggar King only considers for a moment before accepting the gesture, with Aiden raising the champ’s arm on his own before leaving the ring.
Bernadette Olson: Some folks might disagree, but that never gets old for me.
Jacob Frankel: I’m definitely with you. It’s too often unseen anymore; people would rather tear one another apart than show respect, even when it’s earned.
Bernadette Olson: Aiden gave Eddy all he could handle. There were a few moments when I thought we’d have a new champion.
Jacob Frankel: It wasn’t the kid’s night. Will be one day, no doubt, though.
Bernadette Olson: That’s all the time we have for tonight, though. We’ll see you in two weeks for all the fallout from tonight on Vanguard #6!
Jacob Frankel: And I’ll see y’all Monday night for Battle Damage!
The show fades to black with the champion holding the title high.
Winner: Eddy Todd (Still Champion)
Result: Pinfall at 29:31 (Take The Throne)
