"NIB" by Ugly Kid Joe begins to play, and a spotlight shines on a pane of glass featuring the tarot of "La Muerte". As soon as the drums and guitar kick in, the glass shatters, and Javier Mateo Duran steps through. An ever present, cocky smirk on his face, he looks around the arena. Spreading his arms wide, he walks straight down the ramp to the stairs, kneeling and crossing himself before climbing them quickly and stepping in between the top and middle ropes. Javier makes his way to the side facing the hardcam, grinning directly into the camera before flipping it the bird, mouthing "that's right motherfucker", before turning away. He removes his vest, tossing it out of the ring before leaning against the turnbuckle in his corner.

Gimmick

Javier is good, and he knows it. But he doesn't gloat about it, or hold it over people. He stands up to those who feel the need to lord themselves over others, and is never afraid to fight anyone. Coupled with his Congenital Analgesia, this makes him a very dangerous force to be reckoned with.

History

Born to poor, drug addicted parents in Juarez, Javier was raised in an abusive Catholic orphanage. He made his way to the States by illegal means, and took to fighting people anywhere he could for money. A chance encounter with Steven Brody saw him earn a contract with NFW, and the rest is history.
