OPENING SEGMENT
Marching Orders
Marching Orders
The show kicks off with a big ol’ powwow backstage. A group of hooded, leather-clad figures stand before Forge, who is flanked by Becca Maguire and several of his personal security detail. It takes a few moments for the world to hear what’s being said, but soon the microphones kick in.
Forge: -with no unnecessary violence. Treat this as if they know you’re coming, because the little shit probably does. Don’t lay a hand on them unless you ain’t got no choice. Clear?
There’s a nod from those present before Forge, and without another word they disperse. For a brief moment, the image of a hat-wearing skull is seen on the back of one of the men’s vests with bullets for teeth. Forge, without looking back, addresses his security.
Forge: As for the rest of you, I want every exit covered. No one gets in or out without my say so. The locals will handle that where the fans are concerned. Same rules: no unnecessary violence, no physical contact unless there’s no other way. Until this fucker is brought to the light, I don’t want any problems. Now move.
And, just like that, security moves out, leaving Forge and Becca standing there. The former looks focused, if tense, and there’s a question on Becca’s mind.
Becca Maguire: So, why handle things like this, boss? Why not let the Dragons, or even the Maidens, in on this? Do you not trust us?
Forge: You ought to know better by now not to ask me some stupid shit like that, Becca.
Forge takes a deep breath.
Forge: I know good and damn well that either club could handle this. They could get hold of this joker, move them out of sight and make them disappear. There’d never be a trace. Like they never existed. And that would be the end of that. No mess, no stress.
Becca Maguire: So I ask again: why?
Forge: THAT’S why.
He finally turns to face Becca.
Forge: Vance has been with us for a long damn time. Couple times, he was the only reason we were able to keep going when shit got deep. He might as well be family at this point. And knowin’ him like I do, he wants this fuck caught and handled… but not our way. His way. And after all he’s done for us over the years, he’s earned that.
Becca considers this quietly, arms folded across her thick chest as she nods silently in agreement.
Forge: Besides… when it comes to getting hold of someone who don’t wanna be caught? No one does it better than the Dead Men.
Becca Maguire: Fair on both counts. So… what happens when this person is out in the open, exposed for their crimes?
Forge: What indeed.
The big man chuckles quietly, cracking his knuckles simply by clenching his fingers into fists.
Forge: Vance gets this dealt with his way. Then I’m dragging the fucker into the ring at Best Served Cold and teaching him the reason why.
And just like that, a grin spreads over Becca’s face.
Becca Maguire: That I can get behind.
Fade-out.
MATCH ONE
Singles/One Fall
Ayane Nakamura vs. Brittany Williams
Singles/One Fall
Ayane Nakamura vs. Brittany Williams
DING! DING! DING!
The women start with a lock-up. Brittany, more composed than usual, backs Ayane into the buckles but breaks away clean. Ayane is hesitant, knowing Brittany’s history, but they lock up a second time. Brittany is able to use a headlock takeover to bring Ayane to the mat though she quickly gets back to her feet, elbowing her way out. Brittany almost reaches for the hair to pull her back in, but stops herself and takes a couple chops for her hesitation. Whipped into the ropes, Brittany eats a spinning heel kick. Brittany kicks out of the resultant pin but Ayane puts her in an overhead key lock. Brittany gets to her feet and counters into an arm wringer only for Ayane to put her into a hammerlock. Dropping to her knees, Brittany snapmares Ayane, who’s back up quickly only to take a Boom Headshot! from Brittany, who goes for a pin, getting two.
Ayane is wobbly after the hit and Brittany keeps on her, pasting her with high-speed offense. A reversed Irish whip from Ayane is turned into a springboard moonsault press for a quick one-count, and when Ayane comes charging back after getting to her feet, a spinning headscissors takes her into the ropes. A charge, though, gets Brittany crotched on the middle rope as Ayane rolls away. A hard kick to the midsection knocks the wind out of Brittany and Ayane follows up with a gutwrench suplex for two. She loads up the Ashigaru but Brittany elbows out, and grabs the head while falling backwards, drilling Ayane into the mat for a near-fall. Matching Brittany’s pace, Ayane kicks her out of another moonsault and delivers the Bushido for a close near-fall. Sending Brittany into the buckles, Ayane goes in for a facewash but Brittany gets her hung up on the top rope, kicking the hamstring a few times before Ayane can free herself, following up with a blockbuster for another close two. The Hollywood Hills hits nothing but canvas, though, and Ayane is able to quickly roll Brittany up for the three-count.
DING! DING! DING!
Spirit Montego: And your winner… AYANE NAKAMURA!
Brittany is back up quickly, frustrated, but Ayane is ready to keep the fight going. Except… Brittany extends her hand instead and Ayane, after a moment, accepts it. Brittany raises her arm as the crowd cheers both women for the quickly-paced battle.
Bernadette Olson: The training under her new mentor along with her attitude change is serving Brittany well. She’s getting more wins and learning how to handle defeat.
Jacob Frankel: That can only help her in the future, Bernadette, which is getting brighter for her as we speak.
Winner: Ayane Nakamura
Result: Pinfall at 7:17 (Roll-Up)
MATCH TWO
Tag Team/One Fall
Freakshow vs. Duplex Royale
Tag Team/One Fall
Freakshow vs. Duplex Royale
DING! DING! DING!
It’s Jessie and Alexis to start, with Alexis immediately going on the attack through some chops and forearms. For a time, she matches speed with Jessie, but Jessie surprises her with a quick powerslam for a two-count. Alexis’s greater experience, though, allows her to overcome Jessie’s speed after a time, hitting a leg sweep and a jumping leg drop for a two-count of her own before tagging in Derrick. Mikaela tries to move in as Freakshow hits a variant of Total Elimination, but Jessie is able to break the pin. Derrick tries to keep them grounded with a chinlock, but powered by the HYBRID Nation and their cheers, Jessie is back up, elbowing their way out of the predicament. Derrick goes for the hair, but Jessie twists out and nails a lumping enzuigiri to stun Derrick long enough to take in Mikaela. She soars in with a crossbody, bringing Derrick down for one, and rushes him immediately after, only to take a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker that slows things down considerably. A stalling vertical suplex follows for a two-count, but Mikaela is able to keep Derrick from tagging Alexis back in, delivering a flatliner that smashes Derrick into the middle buckle. She tags Jessie back in and Duplex Royale returns the earlier tandem attack with one of their own, a leg sweep/dropsault combination. Jessie makes the cover as Mikaela heads back to the apron, but Derrick powers out at two.
Mikaela takes over on Derrick for a bit, almost scooping him up for Mikaela’s Way, but Derrick finds his way out and spikes Mikaela with a tombstone piledriver before tagging in Alexis. They double-team Mikaela in the corner, and Jessie’s attempts to help only prolong the punishment, as the referee must turn to see them back to the corner. Chops, clotheslines, and quick tags allow Freakshow to act with impunity, but Jessie finally reaches their limit and comes around the side of the apron, spearing Derrick right off it and to the floor! Alexis and Mikaela are alone in the ring and, after a struggle and Mikaela countering out of a powerslam by the stronger Alexis, she’s able to hit Mikaela’s Way! Derrick breaks up the pin just in time, but Jessie is right there to pull him back to the floor. Derrick, however, is able to nail the Journey to Nowhere and, after a Snake Eyes and a discus lariat from Alexis to Mikaela, it’s the Journey to Remember that gives Freakshow the one-two-three, with Jessie just half a second away from breaking up the pin.
DING! DING! DING!
Spirit Montego: Your winners… FREAKSHOW!
Jessie is in immediately to check on Mikaela, who’s coming around. Freakshow doesn’t stick around for the aftermath, though. They look right at the cameras, arms raised, and make the motion at their hips, making it clear that they’re coming after the tag team gold! But whose?!
Bernadette Olson: Pretty sure I know who Freakshow wants, and that’s the Daughters of Darkness! I say make that match for Best Served Cold!
Jacob Frankel: I’m with you on that one! Maybe Freakshow can head off down the road on a high note!
Winners: Freakshow
Result: Pinfall at 9:03 (Journey to Remember)
RINGSIDE SEGMENT
Not A Prayer
“Mud to Gold” begins to play as the lights flash a gold color before disappearing to complete darkness. Soon a white spotlight hits the stage, the HYBRID Global Heavyweight Championship is held high in the air by the hand of one, Duke Andrews. His back to the crowd, a simple pyro of white and gold explodes just as he spins around to face the chorus of boo’s coming from the crowd.
He struts to the ring as the crowd continues to voice their displeasure. Following close behind our champion is none other than Tiffany Lynn Page. Reaching out she hooks her arm through the arm of Duke as they stand at the base of the ramp, looking up into the ring.
“Like mud to gold
Mines in this soil
And I bring that soul
And I’ll never get old, I’m turning mud into gold.”
Mines in this soil
And I bring that soul
And I’ll never get old, I’m turning mud into gold.”
Duke stepped forward before jumping onto the apron and tossing the title over his shoulder before spinning around. Tiffany stepped into the ring and walked over to grab a microphone for Duke.
“Stars are made from walkin’ in the trenches and it seems y’all all forgettin,
It’s about the fuckin’ come up, where the fuck your asses come from?”
Duke stepped into the ring, the music still playing, the tron showing his highlights over the past 261 days as the Global Heavyweight champion. He held his hand out as TLP placed the microphone in his hand.
BOOOOOOOOOO!
YOU FUCKIN’ SUCK ANDREWS!
A smirk formed across the lips of the champion as he lowered the microphone, almost begging for the crowd to continue to lay on their best attempts at insults.
Duke Andrews:Y’all think you can….
The crowd began it’s booing yet again at a higher pitch than before. Duke just embraced it at this point. He walked over and took a seat on the top turnbuckle to let the crowd get it out. His gear was new for him, white long pants that had accents of a bright pink, stripes that wrapped around the legs, his name in black outlined in silver. His kneepads were the same design, but the hot pink in color, the design in white. His boots were pure white, with “DA” written horizontally in black. He had a white cut off that had an image of Kris Draper from the May 29 brawl that happened in this building. His hair was slicked back as he began to raise the microphone back to his lips.
Duke Andrews:And that’s enough from you fucking rejects from Colorado. I know you guys all wish you could be like me, but face it, not even in your wildest dreams could you fathom being Duke Andrews.
Tiffany laughed as she clapped in agreement with Duke.
Duke Andrews:But that’s not why we are here. I am here because you dumb shits are paying to see greatness. You’re paying to see the fucking it couple of the wrestling business do what we fucking do best. You’re fortunate that we get to perform in this shit hole of a town, in this shit hole of a building.
Duke smirked in the camera as it zoomed in on his face.
Duke Andrews:I spent the better part of my life avoiding this dump of a barn. I remember that cheap fucking shot that put the grind line on the shelf…
Another pause as the cheers began for Claude Lemeuix. Duke held up his right hand and flipped the crowd off.
Duke Andrews:Keep cheering for that piece of trash, he got what he had coming. But that’s a little bit off track. Let’s discuss tonight. Let’s discuss the worst champion of all time and the child that is going to be attached at his hip that thinks she’s got a prayer of a chance at taking the most important thing in my life from me. Hell if HYBRID is going to die, I’m taking this on the way out like I did last time. I’ll add it to the collection of titles that make me the greatest fucking thing to touch this ring. The greatest wrestler to ever step foot in HYBRID, in any form. The greatest to lace a pair of boots. The greatest to walk down the ramp. The greatest to step in the ring. The greatest. Period.
At this point Duke is interrupted when the music of Eddy Todd, “Save Yourself” by Stabbing Westward, plays over the PA system.
An eye roll from Duke and Tiffany as Duke hops off the turnbuckle, tossing the title to the floor and raising his hands, ready for the fight that was about to happen. Eddy came down the ramp ready for a fight, with Stephanie Kenyon quickly following. She was ready and had her eyes set on Tiffany as Eddy immediately slid into the ring and brought the fight to Duke Andrews. Eddy launched himself from the slide into the ring and at the champion, throwing lefts and rights as he knocked the champion back into the ropes.
MATCH THREE
Tag Team/One Fall
Duke Andrews & Tiffany Lynn Page vs. Eddy Todd & Stephanie Kenyon
Tag Team/One Fall
Duke Andrews & Tiffany Lynn Page vs. Eddy Todd & Stephanie Kenyon
DING! DING! DING!
The bell rang as the referee gathered some control of the situation and pushed Stephanie and Tiffany to their respective corners. Duke pushed Eddy off of his body and out of the corner. Eddy wasted little time jumping back into the fight as he began to circle up with Duke. Duke pawed at The Beggar King as they circled the ring, the crowd was at a fever pitch before Duke reached back and tagged Tiffany into the match.
Bernadette Olson:What a coward move from the champion. But the crowd is letting him know that!
Jacon Frankel: This place can’t stand him. I don’t know how he got here from the airport to be honest. I did notice he was wearing a lot of the Red Wings gear around today and figured that someone would want to take a shot at him for that.
Tiffany lunged in but was caught off guard by a quick knee strike that barely missed the bridge of her nose. Eddy put the boots to Tiffany before beginning to ragdoll her around the ring. Using his natural size and strength to attack the smaller competitor, getting her to the corner as Duke gets caught walking down the apron. The referee brought their attention to him and not realizing that it was just a ploy for TLP to get a quick role reversal and a high kick to the groin of Eddy Todd.
Eddy buckled for a moment as Tiffany used the opportunity to pounce. Using the ropes she bounced back and grabbed Eddy by the hair before dropping him with a quick takedown. Not realizing where she was in the ring as Stephanie got a quick tag and came into the ring. Pointing from Tiffany to Duke. Duke looked on and just flipped her off. Tiffany laughed in Stephanie’s face before Stephanie turned the tide and hit a forearm to the side of the head and knocking her back to the corner where Duke was waiting.
Bernadette Olson:That isn’t really the spot she wants to be at, Jacob. I know she’s young but she needs to have some ring awareness.
Jacon Frankel: You’re right Bernadette. And just like that Duke gets a quick tag.
Duke tagged Tiffany in a rather unorthodox way by slapping her on the backside. Using his spot, and the lack of Stephanie paying attention, he grabbed her by the back of the head and spun her around, before dropping her neck first across the top rope. As she stumbled back, Tiffany took her shot with a shot to the back of the knee that brought Steph to the ground. Duke rolled back into the ring and looked to attack. He found Stephanie favoring her left knee as he grabbed her foot and quickly wrapped his leg around hers in a figure four and applied more pressure to her left knee.
Duke rolled his hips up which applied even more pressure to the knee as Stephanie lashed out backwards and tried to get a tag to get Eddy back in the ring. Duke leaned forward and swiped his right hand in the direction of Stephanie who was trying to make the tag, but Tiffany came around and yanked Eddy off of the apron. Steph leaned forward and Duke laughed in her face as she rocked her hips side to side, gaining momentum and getting the reversal on the figure four.
Duke reached forward with the pressure applied to his knee as Stephanie quickly released the hold as Duke rolled out of the way.
Bernadette Olson:What a move by the next Global Heavyweight Champion!
Jacon Frankel:I noticed that Duke wasn’t sporting the typical knee brace that he does and that pressure was firmly on his reconstructed knee. Smart move by the young girl!
Tiffany and Eddy brawled on the outside with Eddy tossing TLP into the barricade. As he went for a running knee, she was able to move out of the way as he went knee first into the steel barricade. The night looked like it had turned in favor of the challengers as Stephanie began working over Duke in the corner. Knee strikes as Duke was in the corner trying to cover up. It was clear that Stephanie Kenyon was not going to be looking for a cover any time soon. She was wanting to inflict as much damage as she could tonight, making up for weeks of torment and torture.
Duke grabbed the knee which was enough for Stephanie to stop in her tracks. Duke looked on in disgust as he wrapped his arm around her leg and connected with a dragon corkscrew to the knee.
Bernadette Olson:That move can end a career!
Stephanie screamed out in pain as Duke rolled out of the ring. Eddy was laying on the floor as Tiffany grabbed the Global Championship and tossed it to Duke who rolled back into the ring. He was mouthing off at Stephanie, pointing to the gold championship that was in his hand. The referee tried to step between the two before Duke launched across the ring and plastered Stephanie with the title between the eyes.
DING! DING! DING!
Duke laughed as he sat there holding the title. Eddy was out of the picture as Tiffany continued to attack him at the ringside area. Duke laughed in the face of Stephanie who was now dripping blood from her forehead.
Spirit Montego: Here are your winners as a result of a disqualification… EDDY TODD AND STEPHANIE KENYON!
Winners: Eddy Todd & Stephanie Kenyon
Result: Disqualification at 12:14 (Belt Shot)
POST-MATCH SEGMENT
Never
Never
Duke rolled to his knees as he draped the title over his shoulder. Watching as the red stream poured from her head to the mat. He stood and walked over to her and dropped the title by her head as he knelt down next to her, grabbing her face and holding it upwards.
Duke Andrews:Just like I told this white trash crowd, you’ll never be on my level, kid. You’ll never amount to half of what I have done over the last two decades. You’re living your best dream, and reality is going to set in. This is a nightmare and you’ll never be the same.
Duke laughed again. It was almost as if he was masking the fact that he could lose the title. The one thing he was holding closer to him than anything. He began punching again at the fallen Stephanie Kenyon. Hitting the spot the title busted open, which caused the bleeding to increase. But someone has seen enough: Jessi Ozborne, the person to challenge Duke for the title at Best Served Cold, comes charging down to the ring, attacking the champion before he can do more damage to Stephanie! The assault manages to knock Duke out of the ring and when Tiffany attempts to butt in, she gets tossed as well!
Eddy Todd hits the ring after a moment, checking on Stephanie himself as Jessi stays locked on Duke, wanting another piece of the champ before the pay-per-view!
Duke Andrews:This place will die before I ever relinquish my title. This place will burn in hell before I get beat for this!
Duke is drawn away by Tiffany as Jessi dares him from within the ring to come fight some more! But when the two make their way backstage, Jessi moves in with Eddy, and the arriving trainers, to check on Stephanie…
MATCH FOUR
Tag Team/One Fall
2 Broke Chicks vs. Royal Couple
Tag Team/One Fall
2 Broke Chicks vs. Royal Couple
DING! DING! DING!
The former Unity Champions arrive with their entourage, but that’s not even close to enough to keep Chiaki from going on a wild assault, sending Simon vaulting over the railing and running off into the crowd in fear. Carnifex gets in her way but she nuts right up to the big, bearded bodyguard as Jane tees off on Bianca in the ring! Carnifex shoves Chiaki down but she nails him low in response and goes to bite his forehead, drawing blood! This has the referee ejecting Bianca’s entourage and Chiaki, wearing a red smile, seems to have gotten exactly what she wanted! However, she has to put joy in violence aside and enter the ring to stop the double-team on Jane thanks to Bianca and Honey. The match goes to hell in a hurry with a big brawl going down, Royal Couple quickly being put on the back foot. The egregious beat-down goes on for several minutes with the official giving up on trying to get any of the four women back to their corners. Chiaki wipes out Bianca, Honey AND Jane on the floor with a big dive, nearly putting herself through the announce table in the process. It’s only at this point that the action calms down, albeit slightly.
Bianca is able to use Chiaki’s violence against her, though, and send her crashing into the steps. Following it up with a hard kick to the head, smashing Chiaki’s head against the steel, a modicum of order is restored. Unfortunately, Jane sees none of the benefit as the Royal Couple takes liberties on her, tagging in and out and double-teaming Jane to the extent that the rules allow. Honey Glazed seems enough for a three-count, but a bloody Chiaki breaks it up just in time. Bianca turns her ire on Chiaki, dragging her back out of the ring to lay in some punishment, leaving Honey alone with Jane. A ripcord knee helps turn the tables for Jane, who faceplants Honey on the buckles, then on the canvas. She stalks Honey as she staggers up, wanting her spinning backfist, but Honey ducks it and hits an atomic drop followed by a neckbreaker for another near-fall. Bianca comes to regret going after Chiaki as the latter gets a taste of some of her own blood and mists Bianca in the face with it! The red substance has Bianca shrieking and reeling, allowing Chiaki to send her hard into the barricade. From there, she rejoins Jane in the ring, and soon after it’s a Pay Day to give the Broke Chicks a win.
DING! DING! DING!
Spirit Montego: And the winners of the match… 2 BROKE CHICKS!
The return of Bianca’s entourage has 2BC bailing, but the win is theirs and they’re quite happy with it! Bianca, however, is furious!
Bernadette Olson: Few folks are ready for the chaos that is the Broke Chicks, and the Royal Couple found that out the hard way!
Jacob Frankel: I still can’t believe Chiaki went at Carnifex like that…
Winner: 2 Broke Chicks
Result: Pinfall at 8:11 (Pay Day)
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Don’t Keep A Lady Waiting
Cordelia Clark hasn’t had a lot to be happy about lately and this time, as she goes through her thoughts in the locker room, won’t be an exception at all. The last few matches she’s had here have more or less irked the hell out of her. There’s no sense of happiness in her at all as she begins to express her thoughts.
Cordelia Clark: NOW there is hard feelings…[/div]
Cordelia rolls her eyes, further expressing the anger that she’s dealing with.
Cordelia Clark: In fact, I should probably be honest since Fall of Man when the Vanguard Championship was lost to begin with. As I mentioned before, it wasn’t so much losing it, it was so much the running up the score on social media and then Charles Morgan being all ‘I hope there’s no hard feelings’. Yeah, way to keep pouring salt into the wound there, Chuck. Your last name two weeks ago might as well have been Barkley for all the dead weight that you were during that tag team match. Good going getting pinned, idiot…
I don’t care if this ruffles feathers at this point. The company’s on the way out anyway. It’s not like they can do anything with what I’m about to say. But the fact of the matter is that Charles Morgan can honestly fuck off and never cross paths with me again. I will NEVER respect that man. So he can take his ‘no hard feelings’ running up the score of the match that he had and he can shove it.
Cordelia takes a pause to calm down a bit before she focuses on the matter at hand she wants to talk about.
Cordelia Clark:I mentioned the company being on the way out. I’m still here. Currently, I have every reason to be like everyone else that has jumped off the sinking ship like a bunch of cowards considering that my time here lately has taken a turn for the worse and recently, I’ve come to realize how much… or I suppose how little… I am actually appreciated around here. To make a long story short and to finesse the issue: I bust my ass around here week in and week out and lately, I’ve been treated just the same way my cousin was five years ago which is SHOCKING that I am even saying that…
But unlike her, I’m NOT jumping off the ship. I’ve got too much respect for the business to do that… and I’ve got way too much respect for myself to settle for just a bunch of random matches that are going to be moral victories at best. You’re not going to like me rocking the boat like I am doing right now, but I don’t care. Griffin Hawkins, you, especially, need to hear this.
I don’t have a personal issue with you. And you know, I’ll even say that you made some good points two weeks ago. I HAVE been pissed off at myself because I feel like I’d STILL be the Vanguard Champion right now if I wasn’t ‘stupid and naive’ and accepted a triple threat title defense. Honestly, your running up the score on social media is the one thing that irked me… and I’d be lying if I said that I’ve moved on from that. I haven’t. I KNOW I can beat you and the times I’ve had a chance to face you have been a triple threat match and that stupid tag team match we had two weeks ago. It’s NEVER been one on one and like I said, I’m NOT going out with random matches, I’m going out as a three time Vanguard Champion! Yeah, you heard me Griffin! I know that Aleki Kekoa was wanting to stake his claim against you, but fuck him. He bailed and jumped off the ship like the coward I always knew he was so instead of just defending that title at Best Served Cold against some random person on the roster, why don’t you face ME? I know before I said that I was moving on to the Iron Heart title…
So much for THAT by the way with the doors closing…
But since I can’t have THAT, then with the doors closing, and with my desire to NOT just go out with NOTHING to show for my efforts here, and honestly with the whole ‘contractual rematch’ thing…
Then winning that title for the third time… FROM YOU… is what I am going to have to do. Even YOU agree that I deserve better than just having random matches leaving up to the end and even if you might not, I KNOW you agree you deserve better than a defense against some fly by night challenger.
So consider this an OFFICIAL challenge. I’m not going away. I’m righting the wrong. I’m challenging you for that title at Best Served Cold and so help me god, I WILL go out PROVING that I ALWAYS had what it take to beat the big name wrestlers in this company and that I NEVER was just a stepping stone for someone else or fodder for a bigger name’s millionth moment of glory.
I’ll be waiting for your answer, Griffin…
Cordelia leaves the room at this point, clearly motivated and determined as the scene fades out.
MAIN EVENT
Tag Team/One Fall
Ollie Maverick vs. Jessi Ozborne
Tag Team/One Fall
Ollie Maverick vs. Jessi Ozborne
DING! DING! DING!
Both stars are calculating, circling one another a few times and teasing a lock-up before going at one another. Ollie manages to surprise Jessi by waistlocking her down to the mat and transitioning into a front facelock. The number one contender is able to counter out, though, and trap the arm of Ollie upon reaching her feet. A modified jawbreaker lets him break free, though, and he hits the ropes to charge in with a kick to the head. Jessi falls back into the ropes and comes at Ollie with a superwoman punch of all things. She lays in some chops afterward, backing Ollie into the ropes and shooting him off. Ollie counters, though, and goes for a hiptoss. Jessi flips out of this and lands on her feet, but a clothesline almost takes her out of her boots and lets Ollie get a pin for two. Ollie goes for what looks like a Boston crab post-pin, but Jessi is able to twist out and send him rolling to the mat. A running kick is narrowly avoided by Jessi, who kips up and back kicks Ollie in the midsection before hitting and overhead kick and having him fall back into the ropes. She charges, gets elevated over the top rope, but grabs Ollie by the head and drops to the floor, yanking the back of his neck against the top rope. Back on the apron, she vaults to the top but Ollie unexpectedly meets her up top, hitting a one-man Spanish fly to drop Jessi hard to the mat, getting a near-fall out of it.
The impact follows Jessi as she’s hit with Planes, Trains and Plantains for another near-fall. Ollie showboats a bit, though, and she’s able to get a schoolgirl roll-up for one. Ollie is out fast but a kick to the head has him staggering back a step. Jessi kips up and goes for Bitch-Craft, but Ollie ducks and goes for a neckbreaker. Jessi twists out of this and catches him with a knee under the chin, delivering the Bangarang for a near-fall of her own. With the fans rooting for her, she whips Ollie into the corner and follows with another big knee strike. Sliced bread is countered, though the tossed number one contender lands on her feet. Ollie aims a superkick at the back of her head but Jessi ducks away from it, trying to scoop him up for a powerbomb. Ollie counters out with a hurricanrana and sends her into the buckles to line up the Face Loosener. It connects and he heads up top, sailing into the Ollie-Go-Round but hitting only canvas. The Rude Awakening connects but Ollie is able to grab the ropes. A thumb to the eyes and a gourdbuster leaves Jessi open for the Gravy Train but she’s somehow able to duck the high-speed shot. A leg sweep leads to a second Rude Awakening, followed by God’s Revolver for the one-two-three.
DING! DING! DING!
Spirit Montego: Your winner… JESSI OZBORNE!
Winner: Jessi Ozborne
Result: Pinfall at 10:01 (God’s Revolver)
ENDING SEGMENT
The Revelation
The Revelation
Bernadette Olson: An intense main event tonight, folks, with the number one contender to the Global Heavyweight Championship, Jessi Ozborne, taking the win!
Jacob Frankel: And now-
But Jacob is cut off, as is Jessi’s music. She’s halfway up the ramp when some familiar figures come through the crowd, vaulting the railing and surrounding the ring. Ollie is just getting his bearings back and comes around to see that he’s more or less surrounded. Every exit from the ring is guarded by the Dead Men… and as his situation starts to sink in, “Hardwired” by Metallica hits!
Jacob Frankel: -wait a minute! Forge is coming out here? Does that mean…?
Bernadette Olson: Seriously? Ollie Maverick? But why?!
Flanked by Becca Maguire and some of his own security team, Forge walks out to the top of the ramp and gestures for the music to be cut. Taking a microphone from his back pocket, he locks on to the ring.
Forge: I don’t know why you did what you did, Ollie. But it was a big fuckin’ mistake. In two weeks, you’ll get the chance to tell the world. And in four weeks, I’m going to kick the shit out of you for it.
Jacob Frankel: Wait… that’s it? Just, come explain, then get a beat down?
Bernadette Olson: Forge doesn’t do fancy, Jacob, and Ollie hurt one of the few people he gives a damn about. I think we’re fortunate to not be in the splash zone right now.
In the ring, Ollie looks defensive, but keeps himself from making any rash moves. The fans register both derision towards Ollie and a bit of confusion, too. Forge, though, looks like he’s barely keeping himself in check.
Forge: See him out of here. And Ollie, you’d better be here in two weeks. If I have to send these guys after you, you’ll be coming back in pieces.
And with that, “Hardwired” hits again as the Dead Men, without laying a hand on Ollie, escort him out of the building.
Fade out.
