We cut to the gorilla position for Vanguard episode 33 at the T-Mobile Arena, with the muffled tones of PVRIS’ “HYPE ZOMBIES” playing through the speakers! For a split second the song can be heard a lot clearer, as the curtain gets yanked back a bit. Through it comes the Path to Destiny Tournament winner, and the very last challenger to the Global Heavyweight Championship, Jessi Ozborne. We can see by the beads of sweat forming on her forehead and her exasperated mannerisms that this is taking place right after the main event. However, given the look in the challenger’s eye, it’s plain to see that she is nowhere near done speaking.
Jessi Ozborne: You hear that? I said Do you HEAR that?
Jessi turns, opening up the curtain once again to give the camera clearer audio of what’s going on outside of it. HYPE ZOMBIES continues to play, and the crowd are still at a fever pitch despite Ozborne no longer being in their line of sight.
Jessi Ozborne: You know what that sound is? It’s the beginning of the end!
Jessi takes a moment to catch her breath.
Jessi Ozborne: Say what you want about me, say what you want about how and why I got here. Say that I’m overrated, or washed, or whatever the fuck. One thing you can’t deny, is that I’m the World’s Finest.
Jessi continues to step away from the curtain.
Jessi Ozborne: It’s not a nickname, it’s not a t-shirt, it’s the God’s honest truth. What I got between those ropes, on that mic, with those people out there? That can’t be duplicated, no matter how many people try, and that’s why it spells the beginning of the end!
Jessi throws her fingers up to the camera.
Jessi Ozborne: Fourteen days. That’s all we got left before the lights go out on this place. That’s all we got left until the ride is over, and I absolutely guaran-damn-tee you that the last Hybrid show ever is gonna end almost exactly the same as the last Vanguard ever did: My hand held high, the crowd screaming my name, Duke Andrews licking his wounds.
Jessi raises an arm up in the air, slowly raising up her other arm as she says these next words.
Jessi Ozborne: The only difference been now and then, is that by then, I’ll be raising that Global Heavyweight Championship to the sky as well, and I’m gonna bring this chapter of wrestling history to an end on a champ that all the people can be proud of. That’s not a threat, that’s a promise, and when the next and last ever Global Heavyweight Champion makes a promise, she damn well delivers!
Jessi gets in close to the camera, saying a different variation of her parting words that usually marks the end for anyone they’re directed towards. Just like every other time, she says it with the utmost confidence.
Jessi Ozborne: You’re. Fucking. Done.
